Hey Norbet, I have exactly the same on my main PC. What did you use to clear it?

I am currently running a scan with Malwarebytes, then wil head to Spybot S&D

Look 1 or 2 pages back, safara. There's how i did it.

As for targetting passwords and goldcard codes, i have difficulties imagining an ad system used all over for that.

    Keyloggers could do that, though.

I really don't think this is targetted at EU or even EF. One of my daughters picked this up around the time EF last got hit and since then I have cleared this from a numerous computers around the area (none of whom have any connection to EU/EF).

It does seem to have evolved a bit since I first dealt with it and is more persistent now.

It is easy enough to get rid of with malwarebytes.

Also AVG appears to be useless against this. I use Sophos and have stayed safe so far.

  6. yeah I found Malwarebytes is a simple quick solution to get it all under control. :)

On a side note the newest version of Avast catches it very very well...for the free av users out there. :)

Wouldn't let me into task manager so did a hard reboot, pressed F8 on boot to enter safe mode. I removed network connection and did a scan with avast, that kicked out the trojan, then ran msconfig to disable any programs activating on start up, i also disabled proxy on internet options in control panel. Go into internet options, then lan settings at bottom of that menu, then unchecked use proxy server for Lan. :) I installed scriptblock add on to Mozilla as soon as was cleared, just to top any more scripts there causing me pain .

Thanks Chaps :) A safe mode running of Malwarebytes seems to have cleared it.

Will uninstall AVG and use Avast this evening.

Fwiw, i use avg as well and did get *some* warnings, though somehow the virus did get through anyway.
