    New changes made:

    • If a certain faction ends up controlling more than 50% of the game, it will no longer be possible for new players to join this faction. The idea is to prevent people from just joining the winning faction.

      Let us know how you feel whether this is fair, or whether a specific faction controlling 50% should just mean the players in that faction won, and a new game should commence.
    • When selling weapons or armour, there now is a clear message stating the result.
    • Added a "Time until next cycle" message to top of the majority of the pages.
    • Optimized the code when buying weapons and armour. In case of very large amounts, apparently this could make the conquest system crash.
    • Related to the above, changed the troops column in the database to accomodate larger amounts of troops.
    • Added a trading system. Now you can send gold and troops to any other player. You might be taxed for the gold and troops, though. Sending troops will cost 1 turn, sending gold 5.
    • Changed the way offence and defence ratings are calculated. Promotions affected every unit in the army, instead of individual units. There were other problems, basically resulting in promotions being far more lucrative than upgrades.
    Feel free to give feedback on the new implementations, and please do test the new functionality. Errors can be reported in our brand new bug tracking system.

    I would also like to request that if you had suggestions before, you file them in the same bug tracking system. This will make it easier for us to find all the suggestions and bugs in a single spot :)

    why was my success a disaster at losses on my side and your raid witch was simular in attack and def number rating a big casualtys on my side?

    trying to figure things out but obvously theres more random things going on then i thought.

    ..
    now where time to get the ole fellas back and grab me some serious defence :shoot: :viking::biggrin:
     
  4. Ofc you lose more troops when you attack someone with more Defense Rate - and ofc you lose more troops when someone with a hugher Offense Rate attacks you - appears pretty logical to me.

    hmm now i got a silly number 51000 attack rate in vilage with less ppl, dont get it hehe

    It's mr admin playing around with the rules. He adjusted how defence and attack is calculated. Hasn't really explained properly how it's calculated (at least nothing that i could make sense of).

    From what I understood, there was a bug in the original code that caused a promotion to promote the whole army, instead of the intended single unit.

    Furthermore, in the original code, the natural bonuses for a faction were not taken into account.

    The new formulas should calculate things better, though maybe there is a bug displaying them. I'll look into this...
     
  9. What exactly do you mean by "promotion"? If you're talking about the training available thru the barracks, i think paying 4000g for step II should affect the whole army, instead of a single trooper.

    The nations bonuses were calculated just fine before, at least for Soul Calibur.

    It seems that not all of yesterday's changes have been too succesful. I mostly implemented stuff I found mentioned in the postings from the modification, and was expecting the code there to work.

    This turns out to not have been the best example of trustworthy code, so I'll go through the code manually and see what I can patch up to get things back to working again.

    Sorry for the confusion and trouble. I logged the bug regarding the non-functioning trading system in the bug tracker as well. Should you find anything else, please let us know in there as well. Thanks.

    Hi,

    I am wondering if this is a bug,

    I did an attack raid and lost, but since returning have had these stats:

    Defensive rating : 1
    Offensive rating : 1

    Unfortunately safara has attacked my village twice since having these ratings which has diminished my troop count from the 400 odd I had down to 250ish.

    Admin can you look in to this as 400 troops have armour and 250 odd weapons.

    No biggy on the attacks Safara, I think my town is bugged atm.
    Hold up to fixed please 110 unfair troop losses already + gold snatched.

    Something kooky going on - I ran a spy mission on you Lava, and it said you have about 1500 offence, cant remember exactly, but it was certainly not 1.

    If it was 1, then surely I would have got the "this village is to weak for you to attack" message??

  16. The bug that caused OR/DR to result in 1 is fixed now, sorry for the inconveniences.

    This bug caused the OR/DR to become ridiculously high, this is now working as intended, too.

    Please check your values to confirm it's working properly now, especially those who didn't buy at least Offense/Defense training level I from the barracks.




    The trading subsystem should still be avoided, i'll see when i have time to fix that.

    If you have tried the trading subsystem, please send me a PM with the following information:

    Has the price (in cycles) been subtracted from your cycle count?
    Has the troops/gold you've sent been subtracted from you troop/gold count?
    Di you get an error/confirmation message, and if so, how was the wording?

    1500 is too low to what it should have been when you attacked ;)

    There is an error calculated into your spy missions which is displayed as "accuracy" I ran ~5 consecutive spy missions on John the other day to test how "accurate they were. From our estimation, the numbers I was getting fell within the range they should have. There is also a "randomization" of your attack rating and defense rating durring fights as well, but i think they are closer to the actual number than spy missions show.

    The bug causing the integrated miniforum to always display page 1, regardless of the selected page number is fixed now, too.

  20. I have another suggestion to make the game a bit more interesting:

    1% interest on available gold per cycle - atm, there is no benefit from not spending the gold asap, making the more active players less interesting targets, as they spend their gold quickly - with 1% interest on available gold there would be an incentive to keep your gold for a while - this could maybe replace parts of the "normal" 10 gold/cycle...
