I don't play anymore but this caught my eye, Eve Online has finally got EU style skill trading. Yep you can buy skills other people have extracted with real money, well ISK - but you can buy ISK for real money via PLEX which you pay real money for. (CCP's roundabout way of legalizing RMT.) Some people are heralding it as the end is nigh, some say it's the best thing ever... more interesting is that EA's former marketing executive joined CCP last year.... coincidence I think not :cough:monetization:cough:
A Plex is 30 days of game time. You can either apply the plex to your account to add game time, sell the plex on the ingame market for ISK, or redeem it for Aurum which is another ingame currency just to confuse matters. Plex can also be carried in your ships cargo if you are completely retarded. There is no way to get money out of the game within the EULA.
Someone just did the unthinkable, a perfect character. It only cost them 1.837 Trillion ISK and removed 900 Million skill points from the game permanently - my 2003 main has 130 Million skillpoints for instance and in total I've amassed around 100 billion ISK (all gone now) so you can imagine the scale of it. If they had have paid in real cash it would be 1460 Plex which makes the total real life cost - £21900 It used to take 30 years(!) to max out every skill so you had to be selective in what you were skilling for... not anymore if you are rich/stupid enough
