I love LEGO

Okay okay, my biggest one was way smaller:

My son bought it two years ago together with a B-Wing and we had terrible fun to build both models together.

 

During WoF 2012 I decided to support some friends at Team Eudoria although I was member of team DACH (the winning team btw ). Clam Jboy Jamphrie was the captain if I remember right. I knew him from former WoFs. He was a RL friend of Hurrikane. He already did a great job during the past with WoF scoresheets and with LEGO figures of Team Eudoria members for their sigs. I was at vacation and had to buy a basic LEGO set to measure one of its figures and build my own Jamira figure for my application:



That was Jamira in grey Lion Armour with her beloved UL Niflheim blade. I couldn't apply textures to the armour because I had no access to the game. But it illustrates that I really love LEGO ;-)

Holy shit! Do you realize how addicted we once were? JBoy and me made EU-LEGO-figures ...

... and they didn't notice it ...

 

Holy shit, THAT'S a badass, Wistrel! I start thinking about this hobby again since summer is comming and me and my wife will have nice evenings at the loggia with goat cheese and red wine ;-)
(We call them "Our Italian Evenings" ... Siena, Montalcino, Lago di Belsena and such.)
Probably I should really start to print all the parts of the Millenium Falcon? Just for fun and at low costs? I mean it's very easy to make 3d-models of LEGO parts.

 

My very first LEGO-set was a garage:

Must have been in the late 50s or early 60s last century. That was the first set with its own very special base plate. When a car pressed the bottom plate in front of the garage door counterwights inside the garage opened it and the car could drive into the garage. You could depress the door now and it snapped behind the tongue of the base plate. Inside was a ramp. So pressing the the tongue again opened the door and let the car roll out of the garage. I was around six years at this time. Probably this was one of the reasons I became a mechanical engineer ;-)
They offered some car models at this time too. With solid metal wheels! Unbelievable - lol

Hmmm ...
It seems many folks like to play around with LEGO.
So I'd say: "Alea iacta est!"
I will start to print bricks wich fit to LEGO. "ULLA bricks" even.

• It's easy to make correct and functional 3d-models of them.
  
• Printing such bricks is neither time- nor material-consuming.
• Almost all needed colours of PLA filament are available - and beyond: There are glowing and metal materials too meanwhile.
• The LEGO patents are lapsed.

I mean, who can or would pay ~8-10k Euro for an original Millenium Falcon? What about a box filled with thousands of bricks wich enable you to build such a model for a few hundred Euro?
Well, the quality would be bad. Crystal clear parts are impossible. And I don't know yet if small technic parts will work in a propper way. Alas ... such sets arn't really meant for dayliy use. And crystal clear parts can be bought directly.

 

Today my printer went back to dealer for substitute the heater by a better one. We talked about this LEGO issue and agreed that this would be a promising option. I remember well when the first spaceships arose. Grey parts, helmets and oxygene tanks!

Soon I will be able to print all the parts of the models I loved once. Incredible!
Problems so far: the imprints and transparent parts.
