Was another busy year for me in real life.
My boy is 6 now and in kindergarten doing 1st grade work, is reading and I am proud to say has a great head for numbers.
Wife and I each took on second jobs so working lots, but looking a lot healthier financially after being married 10yrs.

Even with being so busy I still play Entropia once or twice a week and competed in Champions League non competitively which was a lot of fun.
I have been playing on my phone a lot more and been pretty competitive in Galaxy on Fire Alliances which is a real time resource gathering/space war strategy mmo. (kind of like futuristic risk in space with lots of people playing around the clock in a persistent nebula)

Wife just got me playing Celtic Heroes with her also on Android, and enjoying that a lot as well.

I have found that with these phone games I can pick them up for a 10-15 minute coffee break or just before falling asleep in bed without having to think about it as much as I do with Entropia planning out everything.

Just got a new laptop so I will probably be back playing EU a bit more again on very high settings :)

    i7, GTX 980M, 16gig ram, 128gig ssd + 1000gig drive

It has two massive fan ports out the back, and is by far the heaviest laptop I've ever owned. Lots of fun :)

    Boy is 7 now o.O
Bought plans for a 19ft boat to build with him, will make a 1/10th model of balsa and fiberglass with him this winter, then if we can budget it in will build the full scale next summer.

I'm jealous of your son! I always had wild dreams of building my own raft (Kon-Tiki) or viking ship or Hanseatic cog (last check at a small dockyard at Baltic Sea three years ago told me I would need at least 1.000.000 Euro - bahhh!)

Build your own ship or house or whatever is one the best things a father can do with his child! Good look with it, Narfi!

@Jamira Ill bet with <100k and a couple years you could build something pretty nice..... how big you want? It isnt like a longship is that complex.......

For instance this 28ft trawler uses 56 sheets of marine plywood and a bunch of glass and resin.

Perhaps start small and build confidance in a larger project?

These are the plans I purchased,

however there are several designers who offer various size and style plans for 'homebuilt' boats from tiny kyaks to large live aboard yachts, sailboats to speedboats, etc......

If it is something you really want, I do not think you need a million dollars. I don't think it would be 'cheap' but I do not think it would be un-affordable if its something you really desired either.

This guy has plans for a 38' longship no info on building methods or plans cost, but it has his fax number.

    LOL!
Yeah, I got the blueprint for my first viking long-boat back in 1970. And I built a 1:50 model from plywood (rips), balsawood (planks) and an old red-white striped linen shirt (sail). In my dreams I sailed out of our small gray East Germany across the Baltic Sea ... wich wasn't possible in RL because we were caged there by the so called communist gouvernment.

But the dream lingered on for all the years. That was the reason to talk to the owner of that small shipyard and to ask him to build a Hanseatic cog. Alas, I'm too old meanwhile and have no funds for a project of that size. I would like to build a small fleet of 2-3 cogs and offer roundtrips to all of the famous Hanseatic cities ... pure exciting and interesting history combined with authentic sea voyage at a famous historic ship.

Better stay realistic. Build that small boat together with your son! The day when you both launch the boat will be one of the greatest days in the life of your son. I'm sure!
