This is a warning to all players wanting to buy a Mod Merc !! So I saw this on EF: There seems to be a Mod Merc on auction that is the subject of an ongoing investigation / lawsuit. A player called Majklam kalamitz Fizzle is selling it and this player is mentioned on the website entropialaw and is accused of getting that (an lots more) item by scamming (total worth around 500.000 ped) http://www.entropialaw.com/?p=72 http://www.entropialaw.com/?p=140 Not sure, but it looks like that person is trying to get rid of some evidence. Just be careful when buying this, some items had been taken away by MA after they had been obtained illegally and sold on to other innocent players. This will loose you our item and money !!!!
Yep that might be a problem for that buyer or maybe MA doesn't do anything about it and he gets lucky. This is a difficult situation we have here.
I hope this is all resolved peacefully and quickly. It has been going on for a while unfortunately. :(
That's simple: From MAs point of view, you CANT scam anyone - if you lend out an item, the logs show only "Jaywalker traded a ModMerc to wizzszz for 0.00 PED" - basically, you sold me your gun for 0 PED, and i am under no obligation to return that item, because i bought it. Disclaimer: That's MAs point of view, not mine - but nicely explains why they won't lock anyone over this. Umm, not really - and you maybe missed that the set of tier ratings is like a "fingerprint" and can be used to track down where it went - well, for us players (MA has an internal item number, they don't give a damn tho, because of... see above)
I refused to loan my Gremlin set out once.... to loan an item out is to have a 50% chance of you never seeing it again
But there's also a chatlog which should make it clear that the transaction was a loan, not a sale. Support thanked me for letting them know, when an ava tried to scam me, though there nothing to it but a bit of chat, ofc. A thank you costs nothing ofc, but their reply suggested that they take these issues seriously, And they have been known (albeit rarely) to make avas return misappropriated items. Anyway. I hear through the grapevine that the ModMerc was sold for BO :( I wonder who bought it? Looks like word didn't get about fast enough. jay
MA will not (and can not) interprete all the chats (what about communication outside of EU, like skype, msn, email, phone, yada yada?) that established the condititions of the loan - and they have clearly stated that "all trades are final" - there simply is no such thing as loans in EU (outside of the banks), just trades - and trades are without subsidiary agreements. Ofc this appears to be the easy way to handle this, but if you think about it, it's the only practicable way - i am sure they will hand over the chat logs to the authorities once a law suit is filed, but MA will never act on scams - and so far they never did, so where did you take that from: Unless you refer to the UL Korss support handed out to "mr. supportscammer" (which was no player to player trade and a totally different thing), i don't know of a single case, people still have their "dupe-bug" made modfaps, people like Mudkicker still play and this guy just happily sold the scammed mod merc.

Dident you read ER - I was a part of a scam where a person used my msn to scam some "decent" items from a friend of mine. I filed a police rapport, sent it to MA. So did the person who got his items scammed. The person in question who did the scamming was locked. And the items returned. So it _can_ be done if you go through the proper channels. I agree it took a while - like a week, where the person who used my msn to scam could have sold the item. Regarding the "msn" part of the scam. Yes I was an idiot. Used one of those "import your msn contact list to website" things.. which turned out to be a "give us your password so we can login on your msn"... Stupid.. I know..
What happened with the MM auction in the end. Did it sell this time? Did it expire without a bid? Or did someone take Star up on his offer?
