ive been temp banned on EF several times , my opinions dont always meet with the fanboys . since neovixen took over EF , it really has gone to shit. take it as a badge of honor ;)

 

I agree with Narfi - I never saw it being honorable to be banned from any place - forums or games!

Every forum is unique in its way and nearly all of them have gotten rules. Those who didn't ... well, might be no more. Too many rules and a too anal perceptions are not well either.

But main is, if you agree to the terms of a forum and its rules you have to adapt those in order to be able to be a part of that community. If you're not able to stick to the rules and get banned, the only one to blaim is yourself. Also if you do not agree with the management of the forum - it's your own choise to be there.

By allowing the members freedom of speach (to a sertain point) - especially when it comes to other games ;) we hope that we do not have to ban too many members here - though we had to already. We do have rules - but so far I personally believe they are only fair concerning the positive environment we are trying to create here - and people have been conducting extremely well - and they are all adding to make this forum a great place to be! Thank you for that :)

 

Meh... being banned from EF is a positive thing. Its an unhealthy place. I went so far as to ban myself (wrote down a randomly generated password in notepad, copied and pasted twice, then deleted the file) after I had enough with the various negative responses and ridiculous posturings --- and after my request to have my account terminated was denied.

Folks have the wrong idea on EF. They think somehow that the forum is there to make friends; as a result the forum is by and large a popularity contest. A forum exists to conduct business transactions outside of game. It is a tool to augment ingame communication. EF takes it to a whole new level by creating a wholly independent social game within the forum structure itself.

Keep it simple. Make friends with the people you meet ingame. The rest -- take them or leave them. Popularity contests are a waste of time.

VF f.x. got banned aswell and had a lot of discussions with both the forum owner(s) aswell as the mods and people there during the times. Nevertheless people like(d) his honesty. To cook down the point: be yourself - that's all we ask here. And to be yourself you also need to be able to relax and be able to express yourself without being afraid of over-moderation. When that is said, we do moderate here just like other forums (we don't want personal harrashments, namecallings, abuse) - but you can at least talk free also when it comes to games which is competiting to EU.

And that is a thing I never understood - and also joined several discussions about on EF. WHY is it not allowed to mention other games? Competition is healthy and if someone beleives that the players of EU only plays or are interested in EU they got it wrong. We are all players and we have at least that one thing in common. Being able to discuss, talk about, mention, show interest, have a healthy discussion about all games is only natural.

Better talk about other games on an EU related forum (if you wish to see it that way) than to *force* people to join other games related forums to be able to discuss them ...

BUT a forum is a social platform. People here are more 'public' than in game and some are more active than others. There should be room for everybody - and no matter with what purpose they wish to use the forum. I won't judge either.

It is the community that makes the forum, not the forum that makes the community!

hmmm basic filters discovered, wonder what they do

 

I crafted so much basic filters its insane. I am at 70% BPQR at the mo on filters alone. never one global or HOF on it tho. No surprize either
wasted a crapload of Lyst and oil whilst autocrafting. Always suplimented with animal oil residue, eneregy residue and metal residue, each at 1k in quantity. this is probably one of the crappiest things to try and hof on, cos its impossible.

 

Not sure if that is why, but I read somewhere, that when a new item is discovered and crafted, the material spend in that will also be discovered (again) ??

 

Ahh, the basic filters bug is back...

Skippie had "Basic Filter Pioneer" under his EF name for ages, they were "rediscovered" a while ago, roughly once a day :D

The worst about this is that MA/FPC obviously reuses old (pre-cryengine!) code in new VUs - there is no other explanation for year old bugs to surface again (~ 2 years in this case) - if there is indeed a loot pool, and we all will indeed hit an ath to give us back our losses one day, i just hope they made a rounding error in our favour (or something like factor *10 would be nice... )
