I will start the 4th and last part of OpaloMan's legs now. Hopefully we'll have the legs complete tomorrow morning.

Btw. the grey base represnts my printer's print bed. It is 200 x 200 mm (8 inch). The squares are 10 x 10 mm.

 

Finally OpaloMan is standing!

Printing the figure at 0,1 mm layer thickness is really time consuming, costs more but is absolutely worth it. It must be sanded a bit more. I'm afraid you won't be able to get more from a model thats grabbed from a 3d-online game. When I'm done with OpaloMan I will treat him with primer. OZtwo must paint it. I hate painting and I'm not good with it.

It makes a good feeling to touch the figure and to see how it comes to RL.

 

As discussed already, an action figure sounds like a very nice challenge. Although it would be a lot of CAD-work and test prints. But I cancelled my Pitbull-project lately. From what I did at the Pitbull until now, I now, that I can do it. Everything to complete it would cost a lot of CAD-work, material and printer time. And tbh I have no more free space in my room to show the complete model to ... me? LOL!

Soooo ... a functional action figure is a fascinating idea. Well, the size would be twice of them:

Unfortunatally (?) I got a job today wich will make a claim on me for the next days. But I need the damn money. So it's easy to set priorities.

 

Okay, I got the next job - LOL! For at least 14 days. Good for my wallet, bad for OZtwo and McCormick.
Since it'll have a longer pause, I will continue with OpaloMan slowly. That means the upper body. A big problem is the Opalo. Arm, hands and weapon dosn't match to each other:

No clue so far how to solve this problem. I have to rethink this. For now I will print the back:

I need to change the print material. I've killed the second foil for the print bed within two weeks. The current material needs 230°C and it seems the foils can't handle it. Usually I use another material at 210°C. It's easier to release such parts from print bed. Hopefully I will recieve material and foils at Friday.

 

Time for an update!
I had a lot of other stuff to do IRL during last months plus exploring my new PS4 Pro and PSVR. But I'm optimistical to continue latest in early March.

Surprise of this morning. Printer should make OZtwo's missing breast during night time. But it decided to make it's own artwork instead of:

Sorry OZtwo. I hate it to show up again after 3 months absense with this bad news. Even McCormick already felt the fist of fate: Parallel I try to make a model of a vehicle for him. The result pointed in the same direction. My printer got a serious problem with the motor for the Y-direction (in the picture above from down right to up left). It has become an old man it seems. Like me. Probably I can do another job IRL next week. That would enable me to buy a new printer. Cross fingers!

The printer at least ... or the Y-axis of the printer. However, this printer did a good job during the last years. With all ups and downs. Remember: 750 hours done at a price of 430 Euro. No reason to regret something.

If the small cube doesn't work I will buy a new one as soon as I can. Something like this:

 

Lol, you can buy a bird house at every supermarket. And why do you have to wait until 2020? Small tip from my wife: Get a savings box and put some coins into it whenever you can or even remember to do it. Soon (at least before 2020) you'll have $400 to buy a printer. Then ask Jamira for help with the start and some decent 3d-models.
