LOL! I'm at a lower level. First because I spent 35 years of my life in GDR with the permanent menace of Bautzen II (prison of former Stasi) and had a wife and three young children. Second because I'm old and see a lot of things more relaxed meanwhile. Like the other side of the coin: without all the rules and officialism we would live in chaos and crime. Dosn't mean to me to not ask questions or laugh about stupidity. My intention is more like this: "Everybody said: 'That's not possible.' Than one came who didn't know that and just did it."

 

Good news! Budget seems to become good during this month. Arya Stark will happen in November! I am excited. Hopefully this new guy from Russia can make a good model.

 

Well, meanwhile I fight with OZtwo. What I got so far isn't satisfying. I decided to make a new model. What I got from scanning the ingame figure was this:

I used the smoothed version to start again:

Major problem was to position the Opalo rifle. It's impossible because ingame its positioned somewhere but doesn't fit to OZtwo's body parts. I decided to to use a halfway good version. Important points were the trigger (right hand) and the left hand:


Doesn't fit well. And causes a serious problem with OZtwo's elbow:

Alas, I will cut and sand this ulcer after the print. Than I ran a repair process to get one solid model. So I thought. Unfortunataly the scope is open:

I went back to the smoothed original and repaired the scope:

Still a hole! Fuck!

How ever, I will continue with this figure.

 

Next is the size. The original plan was to make 12" figure. But the quality delivered by my printer isn't good enough. So I will switch to something around 20" to let the qulity issus vanish a bit. So we will get a figure 500 mm tall:

Next issue: The feet.

The figur will not stand stable. Either I make a pedestal or cut the model. I tend to the cut because a 500 mm figure should stand seperate without help.

Ahhhrg! The price is high to get a solid model! OZtwo's face details vanished:

I don't like it. I better reduce the size to 400 mm.

LOL! I love him as he is.
Today, less drunk than last night, I made another attempt with my repair program. This time at original size of the statue: 400 mm hight. And I was successful. Face is okay, scope is closed:

 

Yep, the figure is solid. But with 0,2 mm wall thickness:

The upper body is hollow like a chocolate Santa. That's not printable. What a mess!
I'm short before to cancel this OZtwo statue ...

 

Last attempt with slightly changed parameters. This time it seems to be really solid:

So I cutted the head at the tip of the hair and got this:

Today I thought about to deinstall Entropia Universe finally. Alas, probably I can give away my remaining stuff to other folks before this step? At least I could log in.

So if anyone here is interested to get some items just drop me a line and we can meet ingame. Would be stupid to make a present to MindArk. It's not much ... worth a few hundred PED. Some vehicles and clothes, an old broken blade.

Crazy! Parallel to all this I watch "The Man In The High Castle" at Amazon. But most of the time I hang out in front of the printer, observing how my models slowly come to real life. I love it!

The rifle is a desaster! Will need some sanding and filling. Right now I'm printing the head. With the hole and 0,2 mm wall thickness. I doubt it'll look good. But ... let's see.

 

Puhh! Got it. Not good but better than expected.

Kinda model kit:

I won't finish it. OZtwo may do it if he want. There is need for sanding, filling and colouring.
This statue is a good example for "Never ever work with bad 3D models!" At the other hand: It's impressive and OZtwo would be the one and only worldwide who owns a 400 mm (16") statue of his avatar in Entropia Universe. Neither I do!

Bad news for McCormick and regarding all of my other projects. This summer is like Mrs Merkel, our chancelor: It can't stop.
So we'll have the presumably 10th'ish last summer evening. Without work on projects. Just sitting in the loggia, drinking red wine from L' Aude, talking, listening nice music ...

But two kg new PLA arrived today, Arya WIP.
