Life, the Universe and Everything can continue

Well, OZtwo was a project to learn more about what's possible. From a very rough grabbed 3D model to a halfway good looking real life statue. It was an important process for me. Result: I will stop all works in this direction. Wich means OZtwo will be the one and only person worldwide who owns such a figure! THAT is impressive, isn't it?

Regarding your vehicle you should really think about the size! 1:87 is really really small. Probably you can print the model yourself and see the bad effects vanishing more and more with bigger and bigger size.

 

I would make an exception for a statue of your avatar. But don't expect too much. You would have to do a lot of work to make it a nice figure. Meanwhile I know what to do.
You should print the vehicle as big as possible. I made it of two half models if I remember right. Just to avoid undersides wich either look shitty or need suspensions.

 

Oh wait! RedFury was the last model, not the first. Try to print it as one part and you'll see what happens. Later you'll get a new model from me and should print single parts. Tires always laying flat at the printbed. Vehicle body splitted vertical or horizontal in the middle. Always avoid undersides. Especially if they are visible.

Well, we start with the grabbed model. It was 2 mm tall when I imported it into Rhino. See the amount of y at the status bar below:

We have to scale it by factor 200 to get a 400 mm statue. Pretty rough, not promising:

But let's try it. Next step would be smoothing this rough model. Hopefully we'll have another nice summer day out in the loggia. Would be a chance to bring out and use my "special" computer ;-)
TBH I don't like this idea. But alas, McCormick is worth it, isn't he?

 

Have to copy this model to a stick. The "special" computer is neither connected to any network nor to internet. Don't ask me why.
I will smoke another cigarette and start to transfer all the devices and cables ...

I couldn't install my repair program at Windows 7 32bit :-( Have to go to the other computer. But I doubt that this model can be repaired. Probably this job is over before it really starts.
