Happy Thanksgiving all! This morning was annual "Turkey bowl" community rough touch football. Middle schoolers through adults about 12 per team showed up. The team I was on was down 2-4 early but we ended up winning 4-5 thanks to good defense and some fun offense. Landon played around with friends on the sidelines. Then 2pm meal at my bosses house and friends and family (it's a family run buisness I've worked for over 20years so they treat us as one of theirs and most of them are my coworkers) Snacked and watched football all afternoon with them and the kids and home to digest by 7.30 I'd call it a good day
Spawn, many thanks for your Thanksgiving links. I’ve read all of the historical accounts and they were fascinating! Before I had a naive image of innocent and adventurous British explorer/adventurers off to find a new more prosperous life across the ocean. But now it seems the Puritans were a bit like a modern day Islamic State, people whose extreme religious convictions making them blind to alternative world views. As always the native indians’ way of life came across as noble and almost idyllic with their respect for nature. Amazing reads.
