from "affects your ability to aim" its clear to me the intention is that it improves only the aim skill. so as usless as we have recently learnt.
Well, it sounds to me like a bonus on HA/CHA - but the bonus doesn't show up in the stats (unlike enhancers), so it is very likely just meant to feed the decay monster... and seeing the effective hit percentage on SIB and "common" weapons, i think the entire HA/CHA story is nothing but a sham anyway...
thats always been the beleive, but with accurate testing possible with chatlog parsing, we now know that scopes do not affect HA - the rates seen match those expected for natural/seen skill level and scopes+sights make no perceptible difference. it might change CHA and 1 in 10 crits changes to 1 in 9? not sure if anyone has dug that deep, i kn ow i simply took them off after test, just keep low end scopes for zoom.
The Support team has received numerous support cases inquiring about the functionality of weapon attachments lately. To meet the demand of the community, and to clear out a previously communicated misunderstanding, we have decided to provide some more information on the subject. As always, the details we provide are limited, but we hope they will shed some light on the issue. Apart from the advantageous visual information that you receive when using scopes and laser sights, such attachments affect your ability to aim, as explained in the Items Info. We have realized that this information is unclear today and you will therefore see an update of this information in an upcoming release. A previously given reply in a support case stated that a scope or laser sight â??only affects the effective range of the weaponâ?. This was unfortunately an erroneous and poorly informed statement. We would like to apologize for publishing this misinformation and for any confusion caused by it. http://account.entropiauniverse.com/support-faq/pages/2010/05/21/9385/index.xml
When i tested the justifier with and with-out the laser sight, i found no deferance in dmg/pec I thought in Vu9 i was getting few less misses. it may help alittle on a maxed out (L) did not try that. Updated: I did not test while viewing thru the scope. I was zoomed out and had it attached.
I just wish the red laser dot appeared on the target as it used to do. More damage or not, at least they used to look cool back then. :hehe:
LOL - it isn't not using scopes and laser sights that effects the range of ranged wpns, it's ruddy everything else, like MISS! MISS! MISS! even though you're hitting the mobs at point-blank range with a maxed out wpn
