No moving there, just a holiday with my parents, sister her boyfriend an his son. We will be there from July 6th to July 27th, so I won;t be online at the forum, but don't worry I will probably return .

We have rented a Camper and are planning to drive around the Canadian Rockies for 3 weeks.

We don't wanna plan to much, we have 3 weeks time and 4000 km so no need to plan to much, but a general direction is always nice to have.

Of course there is a lot to see and do there and we have some idea on what we wanna see and do, but if there is any suggestion you wanna do, please do.

tell me, tell me, tell me

won't be bringing any computer and don't have internet on my phone, so the chance of me having a look here is pretty slim, but who knows.

wizzszz. Shhh. The hares are in the field. I repeat: The hares are in the field!

I've visited Canuckistan a few times, though never on the west coast, so I cannot tell you anything interesting aboot that.

I can tell you that Saskatchewan is pretty much just prairie. There is absolutely nothing to do there. No pirates there anymore, either:

Quebec is full of Canadians who think they are French, eh? New Brunswick is pretty nice. I liked Toronto, though it's way too busy. But a short boat trip to the Island was awesome. You can see the city from there, but cannot hear a thing, and imagine yourself in some silence-oasis :)

The one thing I would recommend to anyone is the Canadian side of the Niagara Falls. Way more spectacular than the US side.

In any case, have a great trip. Alberta is supposed to be a nice area, and the Rockies prolly are spectacular. I've only seen them from a few thousand meters up, on my way to SF, but it did look like awesome nature.

including 6 return plain tickets from Amsterdam to Vancouver, 3 weeks of camper rent and 3 nights in a hotel we need to pay 9500 euro. Of course we still need to pay for fuel and food and all the other stuff we wanna do.

I won't be able to play for about 3 week starting Tuesday the 6th of July. I'll be going on a holiday to Canada and will not have the ability to be online. I might drop by one of the forums once or twice, but don't count on it.

So don't be worried about me, I'll be back soon if I don't get eaten by a bear.

    some help with directions

North is generally up - anything beyond Jasper is really north
West is generally where all the good stuff is. But I grew up in BC so I have a bit of a bias.
East of the Rockies is generally regarded as being a large parking lot, which is usually empty except for Toronto and a few other places. Drumheller has some cool dinosaur stuff.
South - you don't want to go there - too many Americans

    I hope this helps

Keep your receipts because tourists can file for a tax refund I think, unless the law has changed recently

    Thanx for the info

North is generally up - anything beyond Jasper is really north - will be going really north then to

West is generally where all the good stuff is. But I grew up in BC so I have a bit of a bias. - Will be staying around the Rockies, so I'm OK there

East of the Rockies is generally regarded as being a large parking lot, which is usually empty except for Toronto and a few other places. Drumheller has some cool dinosaur stuff. - Seen info on the Dino stuff and might be going there

South - you don't want to go there - too many Americans - been there, done that

Keep your receipts because tourists can file for a tax refund I think, unless the law has changed recently - did a quick search on this and as far as I can see it is WAY to complicated, but I might keep the receipts anyway, you never know

  16. Enjoy your trip mate. :) Welcome to Canada eh. ;)

GUESS WHAT, I AM BACK !!!!!

Got back home yesterday night and woke up very early this morning (about 3 am) because of the time difference.

I must say Canada is a beautiful country with nice and friendly people (well the ones I met at least). We drove about 3300 km with our RV and stayed at a different camp ground every 1 or 2 days. Done some hiking and driving around, did a whitewater rafting trip and done a lot of the 3 main hobbies of the Canadian people (making a camp fire eating from the BBQ and drinking beer). Rented some bikes in Vancouver and peddled around the city which gave us a good idea about the city.

I'll do some work on my pics and post a few this week, but I already have a sneak preview of one of my panorama's.

I forgot the name of the lake, but will look that up again and let you all know.

Well, started to miss you guys :D

It is beautiful indeed, but to be honest I was happy to be in Vancouver again. All those trees and stuff helps you get relaxed, but in the end I really love being in a city.
