Forum changing PED to Project Entropia Dollars

Discussion in 'About EntropiaPlanets' started by Oleg, Jun 9, 2010.

  1. When I make a post using the abbreviation P E D, the forum automatically changes it to Project Entropia Dollars in the post.

Even in this post I had to write P E D with spaces in it so that you might know what the hell I'm on about.

This is annoying :) Is there a way for me to switch it off?

It's a feature that I am not too fond of either. The fact it does it is kind of cool, but the end use is more annoying than helpful I think.

RAZER Custom title ... uh ...

and it doesn't only do it with PED (P E D), also CND (C N D), CP (C P) and EU (E U) and some more I think. I agree that it is kinda annoying sometimes.

It's part of a package we bought to help us achieve better rankings in the Search Engines. By writing out the full terms, instead of the abbreviations, it hopefully will ensure two things:

    1) More standardization across the boards (which should be good if you're a newcomer. If you ever started a new job and were swamped with new terms and abbreviations, you'll know what I mean)
    2) The search engines being able to identify that when we use an abbreviation, we actually do mean the full term.

If it really annoys people this much, I'm more than willing to switch it off, though. Perhaps I ought to set up a poll about it?

  6. Let's get rid of it, it is highly annoying.

It might help with the page ranks, but it confuses the people using the forum.

    TT+4

Oh, and now that we're at it, we should get rid of the "merge multiple posts into one" module, the initial cause for having it has been removed, and now it prevents people from setting up i.e. event threads properly (where you have to reserve the 2nd or more posts for a ranking list/results)

    Done and done.

But... but... think of the poor readability devices that now will be stuttering CEE EN DEE and their users thinking DOUBLEYOU TEE EFF?

  9. Thanks folks, I agree it's better without it :)

Since you are disagreeing with him, logically therefore he must be disagreeing with you and hence he cannot possibly be agreeing with himself :D (now if that actually makes sense i didn't do a good job of writing it)

  12. Errm, what? :D

Simplez by stating a lie then a truth ;)
    or a truth then a lie ...

    or by stating something contradictory.

or by not making any sense at all liek me (and make sure u pronounce lieke correctly not "like" :D)

    Are you confused now?
