I just love it when people meet my expectation ..

... especially when those expectations are down in the mud and the person ends up showing their true colours. (duplicating here as suggested)

Some of you know me, some of you don't. I pride myself on being an honest and caring person, but unfortunately these traits make me a bit of a sucker for those who would like to decieve.

My society is the lowest tier of our group of societies. We accept all new players that want to join, provided they are over the age of 18. (hoping for some maturity but failing in this case) Because of this open door policy, we can expect a few bad eggs every now and then. When this happens, we deal with it.. case closed. An individual joined a few weeks ago who instantly got my attention as being someone rather rash, rude and aggressive for various reasons. Being the forgiving sucker that I am, I decided to give them one more chance and wrote off his aggression towards others as him having a bad day and losing lots of peds.

Time goes by .. he makes a few more questionable moves, gets an attitude on, yadda yadda.

Last night, 7 member of the society went out on a hunt. I believe it started at TI and after some hours moved to Ithaca to take on some Atrox. Then this happens...

I wasn't a part of this team but I knew what they were hunting and when I saw this beauty pop up, I was THRILLED for the soc.

Then I learned that actually, only 2 people looted the mob because the team had been swamped by mobs and therefore were all shooting different things trying to keep each other alive. (all members of the team were active for the good of the team and had been hunting together for a long while - Equal split agreed before the hunt of course) One person looted 6K, another looted 2K. After the initial shock, the person who looted 2K handed it over to the team leader without being asked, for a split.. he then prompts the other person to do the same. Salerno Recover Vextro, who looted the 6K, says he has to go to work and logs off leaving 6 stunned, disheartened and pissed off team/soc mates. And I was pissed, too. I would like to say I would never expect this kind of behaviour from people, or from him.. But I did. But I'm pissed for my soc mates who were so excited for a loot we all dream of who then had to go without. Yes, ok .. they still get 2K between them. But 2K between 6 instead of 8K between 7 is very different and that's not what they thought they had.

I waited until today to make this post in the vain hopes that he would do the right and respectful thing to the people who, without gain, taught him how to play the game and shared their secrets with him. I've spoken to him today and he used every excuse he could latch on to, to say why he didn't hand it over. He said he was late for work and blah blah blah. (I'm sorry, if you're already late you can take an extra 30 seconds to give the team leader the loot and ask him to save your share) But when I asked him why he didn't, after much bullshit he finally said "I didn't want to." Ah, the truth comes out.

He also claimed that me "sticking my nose in" and demoting him was not very professional and none of my business and that's why he wasn't going to split it. I'm the General, of course it's my business dipshit. Oh and him having to split the loot was BS apparently. Nice guy, huh? He had no intention of splitting the peds with his socmates.. and most of them really were people who taught him how to play the game and advise him on most aspects.

I don't ever make posts like these, but this individual has pissed me off enough and the sum of money is large enough to really get peoples' attention. There is also the fact that he claims he doesn't need a reputation to get by in EU, and I'm making this post to test that out.

Needless to say he is no longer a member of the society. He left before I got a chance to boot him, though if I'm honest I fully expected to log on this morning and have him already gone. This is my warning to you all. Stay far away. He volatile, sexist and untrustworthy. A spoiled brat with no morals or thought to the well-being of those around him. I'm sure it won't be long until this thread is locked and I don't care. I just want to give people a chance to see it so they might know who they're dealing with in the future.

  2. Its so sad when this sort of thing happens :( Thanks for the heads up on the name :)

Unfortunately greed gets the better of some people

  3. Some people succumbs to greed.

I have lost a few friends over greed in the past (real life friends.) and I hate seeing it happen, I don't value money as much as I value friendships.. Might sound like I'm rich but I'm a poor student! :D

It's always sad to see this shit happening and I can see your reasoning behind this post.
99% of the time I'm the good guy, keep my aggressions to myself, always help people out nomatter what, I lend stuff out etc etc and I know I'm a good guy... But eventually, some asshole takes it for granted and or I find myself in a situation where I am totally unwilling to let anyone slip past me, I will (for once.) be selfish.

And this is kind of what I feel this post was.. One of those times where you were tired of being the good one and just couldn't care less about moralfags everywhere.
So I think you did a great thing posting this, It's a sad story but shit like this is actually rather decent to get out in the public eye.
I don't mind namecalling at all, as long as the person has a possibility to redeem himself and you are willing to alter your post.

I have always considdered NBK being a clusterfucked society and I can honestly say it was no surprise it actually happened in one of their socs, please, I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just honest with no intentions of pissing you off.

Reading this just makes me appreciate my society even more, noone under 18 allowed in, anyone who gets in knows someone on the inside and we are a tight knit group from the start, my socmates trust me a 110% with their gear, and I trust them with mine. <3

Thanks for posting this and welcome to entropiaplanets! =)

  4. RAZER

RAZER Custom title ... uh ...

It sucks to have people like that in the game, but unfortunately they are in the game, and I don't think this thread will be locked, the policies about this are a bit less strict here then on some other forums :)

  5. thats why I suggested to post here too as it will be gone soon from EF I guess :/

Always good to know the names of these assholes...

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. :) We do put ourselves at risk by letting anyone in, but as we've always said .. the lower socs are a filter to our higher ones. Doing it this way is a way of giving everyone a chance and weeding out the assholes at the same time.

Sorry, this post was a direct copy from my post on EF. The bit about it being locked was aimed at there :P

Hehe.. I've been a member of this forum as long as you :P I just don't post often..

But thanks guys. The whole point of me posting was not to bitch and moan, merely to make people aware. Unfortunately, to make people aware I have to tell the story. I just don't want some poor suckers inviting him along to their society and having the same thing happen to them.

  7. yeah the story about what happened and some background info make it so much better, hate to see people posting "this guy/girl is a scammer because I didn't know I could get 110% and they only gave me 102% on my muscle oil"

And if they wanna challenge your statement I hope they still do, but somehow I doubt this asshole will lol

  8. Thanks for the heads up.

The only thing I would have done differently was not demote him. In my experience demoting does not lead to an acceptance of discipline, but rather an angry lashing out of the internet ego. I would have spoken to him and given him the opportunity to engage in the split immediately.

His behavior would have been judged based off that single reaction. If things were handed over quickly and without question there would be no issue, no demotion, nothing. It would have been chalked up to the shit happens, but sometimes its not really shit category.

If he even put up the slightest bit of protest though I would have pressured him to hand over the items for split, and then regardless of whether he split it or not he would have been given a polite farewell. In the end he got what was coming to him in this case, but with just a little more awareness of what the demoting thing actually does to people in a land where the ego is all people really have.... well... who's to say what could have happened.

It might have been the same...

  9. Bah! :D
    Silly me.

A quick question arises though.. Don't you feel somewhat.. Used?
You just stay there in that soc and watch other people "climb" the soc-ladder?

In my soc we put the new people on the lowest rank, slooowly over time and trust they get promoted.
It's like... We get to know them since step 1, if we had a recruit soc they would first have to make friends in the first soc, then in the second.

To me it makes no sense because I prefer a soc to be a tight-knitted group since day one.
Please don't considder my questions rude, I have no other intentions than to relieve myself of this mystery! :D

I have been friends with the NBK family for a long time, and I have seen their operation from the inside as a guest. I can tell you that they have efficiency, despite the level and amount of challenges and drama the community perceives them to have.

Make no mistake, they have had their challenges and drama, and personally, I feel that some of it certainly could have been avoided, but this isn't the time nor the place to discuss it. I just know that they have a decent system in place for how they recruit and educate new members, and also how they develop them to move up into higher ranking socs with more benefits.

And ... it does make sense to me for someone to be in a group who have skills within a certain range. There are many socs where you can't even get into them unless you have a certain skill level. I like how organized the NBK is, and not only the incremental benefits that they give their members, but that high level members are available to contribute toward development as well.

There are several socs within our community who have academy and shadow socs as training grounds for advancing to a higher level or ranking soc, so I see nothing out of the ordinary here whatsoever.

No I don't feel used. I'm here as a volunteer because I love helping out new players. I get a real sense of achievement from watching them "graduate" as we call it, to the next level.

If/when I want to call it quits, I can and will. There's nothing keeping me there except for my own loyalty to the soc and helping out the noobies. :D I still get to do the things I wanna do in game and I get to do something good at the same time.

And thanks MS9 for the love. <3

  12. I hope you realize I never said anything that contradicts what you just wrote here.

I see what you mean and I when I first read this I had pictured in a very different fashion.

My comment wasn't made as a derogatory statement Hon, but rather one in which I expressed an alternate opinion (in so many words) that having an entry-level soc as a training ground with guided development and access to other socs within the organization to enhance the process does make sense to me. Unless I read your post wrong, you said that it didn't make sense to you, which is perfectly ok, and I respect that, because ...

The way that you do it within your soc works perfect for you, so it's a matter of preference with what fits more comfortably with a soc's agenda and cohesiveness. All of these methods work just fine with good leadership in place, so no problems. ;)

A few of the hunters involved have spoken to him and he's refused now still to hand anything over.

He has since joined Omerta Society. I wish them every luck. :S
