The BBC has a few interesting things on the Mexico gulf oil spil. Only reason I even saw them is that the mother company of my employer is also involved in oil drilling, and they had a news article on the intranet recently about certain safety measures used in drilling. I know nothing much about the oil drilling industry, but I must say I'm fascinated reading up on exactly how things are done. In any case, one presentation at the BBC shows the procedures that BP followed when they attempted to close the holes, and the challenges they faced. That's exactly what it is :) The guy describes it in the video as well, as "those bugs that crawl under rocks". I did not quite catch the English name for it, though. In Danish, they are called "baenkebidder" .
