Club sensation, Cheri Moon’s latest hit, “One More Crazy Summer” now has a stunning new music video that is already turning heads around the world. *Shot just a few weeks ago in the city of Bremerton, Washington, the “One More Crazy Summer” video is now being played by several of the top music stations around [...]

    Might just be me.
But calling it a hit doesn't make it one.

No it doesn't, but some stats were given to indicate that it's doing quite well. With one track hitting #1 earlier in the year on relevant genre charts, as well as her current track at #2, I think that qualifies pretty close to being a hit.

While I'm not particularly fond of the video, I like the track. I sort of expected content to be more LA'ish with beach scenes. At any rate, I wish Cheri success with her music career, and ND with the record label.

It would help if there was a link to the charts being referenced - there's quite a few out there :)

You're absolutely correct "D" ... and perhaps ND will give those links to us.

ND reported in his thread about this at EF, and stated ...
Club NEVERDIE's Record label comes of Age with its first Major Release into the UK Market. (the Record that hatched from the Atrox Queen Egg)

One More Crazy Summer by Cheri Moon peaked at #2 on the Music Week upfront club charts. It is gaining radio support every week in the UK and is now in rotation on over 20 Stations. The Video can be seen on The Box, Smash Hits TV and The Chart Show.

The Actual Release date of the Single is September 20th...

I gave the link to the Music Week site, but unfortunately, couldn't find anything specific because it's a subscription site, and ... I'm not exactly sure what upfront club charts means either. The above is clearly a promotional campaign for the new release, and I don't see anything wrong with it actually, other than not providing links.

I highlighted a couple of things to indicate that it seems that focus right now is in the UK, which is where ND is from, so perhaps some of our UK friends would be better able to let us know if they've heard it on the radio, or have seen it on any type of charts.

It also says that the actual release isn't coming out until Sep 20th, so everything right now is pre-release promotion. I thought the track had already been released, but in light of this information, I guess calling it a hit maybe references the reception of the track just in the areas it's being promoted? :dunno:

That said ... I clicked the news link in the OP which took me to the ND website, and found that the article was actually written by someone named "EZ" ... I've seen EZ on ROCKtropia, so I know he plays the game, BUT ... and this is a big but ...

In reading the article, I noticed something myself that I would question. The content describes Cheri as a virtual world superstar, and I don't know about anyone else, but I haven't seen that inside EU in over 5 years that I've been playing, so I'm guessing ... that all of this is music business hype to promote Cheri's tracks.

However, it appears as though her music is played on the virtual music stream at ROCKtropia, and would expect nothing less, but it still doesn't make her a virtual world superstar. No disrespect to Cheri whatsoever ... just looking at this objectively with regard to labels and phrases used as descriptors.

Employing hype is not uncommon for some to take liberty with in order to promote a product, person, or thing, but I have to agree with both of you (after all), that if you're going to say it, then give something to substantiate it, other than words. I still wish Cheri and the ND label success, and as they progress, perhaps they will supply us with links or references that are more substantiating than just words.

After exploring this further, I think we're on the same page after all.
