    How can you help to make this happen: listen to my mentors/teachers/masters (:wise:) and contribute with what i can!

    i mean, I am not saying that it is just wondering, as...

    ...I am a noob and never got any help from them on any way.

    Also, I run a society that help noobs on a new planet and I never heard of those people.

    Then I posted something in here about our society, just to find out that it had been kicked (moved) somewhere less prominent.

    Also never heard of anyone who git their help.

    it does sound like a "friends only" group, and it does sound kind of condescending if you ask me.

    not sure yet, just an impression, perhaps.

    They want stuff so send them stuff?

    Dont they have enough stuff? I want stuff too so I can REALLY help new members. :)

    Lord, the adopt a newbie foundation was founded by me long time ago. Before this i was running the School of Lootius. The foundation is built up and run by people who dedicate their freetime to help new comers in our universe. People, like Dalas and others, who wish to make a difference in a difficult world and who freely donated tt armor and other items which can be helpful for newcomers.

    Calling it a scam really makes me angry and clearly shows me you have no idea what this foundation is about, what kind of people who are working with it or how many newcomers it helped.

    LordLongLicious, I'm guessing that the reason your thread or post was moved is due to it being in the wrong section. And no, there's nothing elitist or insider about the ANF. Anyone can apply, and any society can offer spots. No items are solicited, and everything that is donated to the ANF is listed, along with the person who donated it. What is collected is handed to societies when they get a new member from the ANF joining them, and what was handed over is also listed.

    It's all public and transparent. Not sure why you insinuate there's something dody going on.

    What kind of help are you hoping to get by joining a society: Mostly information about the game, getting a mentor, getting to know some people

    How can you help to make this happen: Well like I mentioned earlier I'm a fast leaner and I can follow orders and if I can I'll help others.

    Hi LordLongLicious and welcome to the ANF section of EP Forum.

    As Lykke and Peter have said, there is nothing "scamish" about the ANF at all. Everything going on is totally legitimate here. I dont know where you'd get the idea that it wasn't, to be honest. We have plenty of collaborators, donators, societies and newbies. There's something happening pretty much all the time either here in the forum or in-world in the Newbie Society.

    While I can't talk so much for the in-world Society since I mainly deal with the Forum side of things, I can say that a very good and long-term EU friend of mine runs what I've been told is a tight ship in-world with the society. If you see anything untoward going on relating to members of the in-world society, which isn't always 100% clear to everyone, then I'd hope you would report it to me here or LeZen in-world. We can then take the necessary steps to investigate the cause of the disruption.

    If you've never heard of anyone that got help from ANF, it's most likely due to not having read the ANF Forum section, because there are a few nice stories there. Also to get help from ANF, you have to either join the ANF Society or sign up here on this Newbie List, where you could receive help.

    You see, the ANF got going after the planets started popping up and getting populated. So, essentially it began as a Calypso thing. This of course, is not an easy jump to make, and we are working on it. We've had a lot of work just getting the ANF set up and running steadily on Calypso. To expand requires more manpower (and remember this is all voluntary, we're not being paid for this) and more manpower requires that we have better control systems in place, for my confidence to be enough to want to expand in the first place.

    It's a lot to think about, especially when everyone has real life to deal with, and obviously want to log in to EU and have our own life there.

    I don't think I need to defend myself about taking donations for newbies. I've been doing such for years, since before I took over ANF, and never before encountered any issues there. My reputation among people who I've helped will sing its own song there ;)

    About your society post, I had no idea you posted it in here, that's admin's work. Also, it seems like you are beginning a parallel venture to ANF with your Next Island Noobs work. Of course, if you are not directly involved in the ANF, your help will still be recognised and supported, but not as ANF work. If you want to collaborate with ANF, that may also be a nice option to get us expanding to other planets.

    However, throwing accusations of scamming out there before reading the appropriate Forum section to find out exactly who has been helped by ANF, what seems like an accusation of me stealing items from the Fund and calling this a "friends only" and condescending group does not give you a good introduction to ANF to be honest.

    I have a little story to tell you about me "stealing" from the Fund actually:

    The other day I was going hunting and I wanted to wear Goblin armour, so I went to Storage to pick out my Goblin.

    Somehow the feet were missing.

    It dawned on me that at some point I had mixed up my Goblin Feet into the ANF stuff and given them away to someone. Luckily a socmate had just looted some, so I was able to get some for next time.

    It's also impossible for ANF armour to end up in my own armour section, because I only have one set of Pixie and one set of Goblin, all Male of course, so anything extra just gets thrown down below into the ANF section of my Armour tab in Storage.


    Anyway, just to give you a little overview of the situation and let you know that you need not worry about ANF. We're doing just fine these days, how about you? :)

    Personally, I would rather donate stuff to people who've been in-game for years and years, and who are very well-know for their work in helping newbies (i.e Dalas and Lykke), and who are well-respected and trusted by this comunity in general.
    Maybe you are trusrwiorthy too, maybe not, but as a self-declared noob, you sure;y have a long way to go before you can expect that people will trust you
    You haven't heard of Dalas before? Well, that's how it goes. This is big community with many, many newbies, and no individual or organisation can possibly help more than a fraction of those people. I've heard people renark that they haven't heard of Alice!

    All I know about you is that you accuse people of scamming purely on the basis that you're unfamiliar with them. Heck. I would be very, very wary of dealing with such a person. In my experience people who are that cynincal , are usually so, because they judge others by their own low standards. Maybe you are different, but I wouldn't take the risk

    Hi. I felt I should reply to this as well. In the EU my name is Jassin Michaels. I am new to EU. Period. I've been playing for maybe 2 weeks? I didn't know anybody at all. Heck I didn't even know about EU at all until the same day I created my Ava, which again is about 2 weeks ago. I heard about ANF by a google search and signed up...I joined ANF and everyone was friendly and considerate and I got adopted by TAO and have really enjoyed the relationship I am building with my Soc mates now. So to say friends only or what not doesn't make sense since I am a newcomer in every sense of the word. These are great people trying to help newbies out and they have been established for quite a while from what I've read. What you are wanting to do sounds good but you can not expect a new group to suddenly do just as well as a group that has been around for a long time. it's just like any business it takes time, work, effort, and a lot of patience and working with people. To start by calling another well established organization a scam is not making steps in the right direction. Anyway those are just my thoughts. Good luck in what you are trying to do, but please don't be condescending about people you do not know.

    What kind of help are you hoping to get by joining a society: I hope to get information about how Calypso works because I have no idea about almost nothing so i need help to stand up on my feet, a mentor would be perfect.

    How can you help to make this happen: As I said I'm helpful and a fast learner, I'll do everything on my hands to support my team and my society, i have played a few other MMORPGs so I know how to pvp and pvm also I know how to follow and give orders, you can look at me as an investment because I dont forget the people who helps me.

    In other news, I have updated the Form to include Other Languages, because certain societies may be looking for different languages to English, such as Die Templer and TnT, who are both German based socs. These guys asked me to change the Form so that they could more easily pick out their fellow German speakers, even if they're not German.

    So guys, your wish is my command.

    Danke schön für euer Geduld und Hilfsbereitschaft :) (Man it's hard to think German these days when all I can think is Norwegian!)

    Also I changed "Start Planet" to "Home Planet" in anticipation of the Planet-hopping that many people are (going to be) doing. Just a few little changes going on :)

    I did the tutorials at the start and I am really intersted in mining and crafting but I am hoping to do alot of hunting on the other side, I want someone that can show me all aspects of entropia universe

    Mining: Surveying 763, Drilling 790. I am currently interested in surveying for enmatters and am focusing on this skill. As of now i am a non-depositer so I also know NEAS Place well because of the sweat gathering.
    Hunting: I have killed a few animals when they block my claims, but am not very proficient at hunting.
    Crafting: I am not as interested in crafting at current due to the high investments associated with it.

    Arcand, I can't recommend enough that you continue to log in to Entropia, learn about it, talk to people, learn from everything.

    Patrick, no worries about the 17 Agility, it seems you'll be a welcome addition to any society who wants to adopt you, with your prior experience.
