With the first part of our interview about Next Island posted, do you have any questions about planet ROCK Tropia specifically, follow-up questions in regards to the new information given in the Next Island interview, or NEVERDIE Studios? This is the place to list them, and like last time, we will most likely rewrite the questions a bit, possibly leave out some, or add some of our own to try and ensure a bit of a logical flow in the interview. What are all these Tropia Names about that can be found on the rocktropia website? Rocktropia Place Names? - General
Some that come to mind right now are: how much influence do all the artists that are involved in the development of the planet? any chance of more artists to join this planet in the future? this planet has a lot to do with entertainment, will this mean there are other things to do than hunting, mining and crafting and maybe even free?? One thing that comes to mind is watching music videos or movies even on some square in a city for some PED's maybe or for free with a commercial in front of it. I assume we also have PED's to pay with on this planet? will think of moremaybe

Are these 'gangs' mentioned going to be new entities which are in addition to societies or will it be just societies themselves who are the gangs? 2. Will this be constant warfare for control of the areas, or will it be similar to the langrab system currently set up on Calypso? --------------- Suggestion for a rewite on the snippet above: "Take on these gangs. Rule the streets. Become Kingpins of the burroughs which will yield you real money while you control them." --------------- Comments: Please, please say that this will be constant warfare and not LG style events for control of these areas. The ability to be a member of more than one group at the same time would add a huge dimension to the game. A player could be a member of a society, a gang, a corporation, a military unit, a fan group (it is ROCKtropia after all) etc. all at the same time. I realize from your comments in the NI interview that it all has to be done within existing MA mechanics; so my hopes will probably dashed for now.
Question: Jon, want to make history? I have some wicked music ideas. Better than the one I mentioned to you when we first talked about LYkke and myself organizing events for CND (For those not inside the loop, basically I suggested we'd put CND promo teams at live gigs played by the world's top DJs (for whichever reason, Dutch DJs seem to do *really* well), streaming virtual video of CND back to those events).
How will Rocktropia deal with the ephemeral nature of popular music? Kevin Rudolf already looks like being a one-hit wonder. What will happen to Kevin's Wasteland if, in 2 years time, Kevin has faded into obscurity?
We'll soon be sending Jon the list of questions for RockTropia. You've all been able to read the interview Zac Simpson did about ROCKTropia (announced here). Do you have any follow-up questions based on that? Here's some additional questions I came up with: Who is the owner of ROCKTropia? Is it a single person, or a project-team? In your interview with Zac Simpson, you mentioned artists will be able to run a studio, which is similar to a Calypso house. Will the ROCKTropia studios be a crib to hang out in, or will they also offer music studio services? What about professional musicians offering services in virtual reality? Will it be taxable hunting and mining grounds, or would I for instance be able to get attend an ingame seminar offering guitar lessons from Slash? (could be an interesting spin-off to raise money for charity and promote the planet a bit more that way).

You're a couple of weeks late, Shinobi. And I'm not sure a planet partner can overrule MA like that. But seeing you're buddy buddy with Jon, why not ask him yourself?
Some of the planets will have their own clients so why not? I assume though that Shinobi will be unable to ask MA to transfer him to Calypso though if he wants to go on a vacation
Is Rocktropia still on course to release this year, or is the middle part of 2010 more likely? Sorry, you already asked the questions, will shut up now.
My guess is the back-end of all the planets will still be handled by MindArk. That would mean MA also has total control over who is allowed in and who is not. They made it abundantly clear they do not appreciate Shinobi's presence anymore, so my guess is they will just inform the planet partners of that decision. Here's an interesting question, though. If you somehow earn yourself a ban on one planet, will it mean you are banned on all other planets as well? In the case of scammers and/or thieves, I can easily see how that could be the case. But what about differences between EULAs?
