And to me it looks like theories only, and nothing is proven - there's no 'logic' in what you're saying whatsoever. I do believe the game is 'dynamic' but not the way you believe it is, is that fair to you? As you can post your 'feelings' about the game here, so can I. And I believe this game is so dynamic, that 'I would never get' doesn't exist.

 

To be honest Im a little tired of threads that put members of the community on trial. If its not one member of the community trying to rip someone off through their radio station, its another member of the community ripping people off by conspiring with MA and NEVERDIE.

It breeds bad blood within the community as accusations fly, and makes the community look selfish, petty, and jealous to outsiders. It also potentially ruins new player experiences because in their quest to find out how the game works they read jealous threads like these. I know. I was one of the players that looked at these threads and thought "is this for real?"

I tested it, and though over time and with knowledge of trends per area and per mob the test proved false, if I was less of a patient person I could have easily given up after my first 6 weeks, and with the numbers I had obtained thought that all the accusations of rigging were true.

They arent. If theres any rigging it cant be proven yet. So how about we just relax, have fun, and worry about our own yard for a change instead of looking across the street and getting mad at the neighbors.

what u dont seem to know is that i have been mining this place for a very long time ever since rocktropia got introduced with ma109, simply cause i found nice spots over there,it was a fresh air, no greendot, flat land, and it was grindable enough the way i do it.
After having purchased few domes i had not enough cash to craft as i used to so i used my time to mine more and i found out mining got so much better with vehicules (lot of time saved) and other hidden factors so i had lot more turnover past weeks with ma109 aswell as more motivation than past all months before (i actually burnt like 6000 probes ma109 in not even 2 weeks or something)
i was about to get my 4 th domes when i got my ath, about to sell an imk2 where i had a share in it (which got sold anyway) and this ath is helping me to have extra cash for craft soon (which is not much compared to backup i use usually crafting wise) or who knows, maybe ill find a way to get another dome soon again =), iam not counting on that for sure xD
So where did this ath come from ? try to use ma109 only all the times, be able to drop and extract 200 probes in little hours, do it a lot and iam sure if ud been mining on rt like i was.. ud have gotten the same.
did i grinded large enough and long enough and the fact not much mine on rt gave me an advantage to trigger this find ?
Is loot pool general and does someone mining alone in a place get more chance at an ath than other with also crazy ammount of mining done, i dare say technics aswell and other factors ?
how good are range enhancers too ? ;)

or maybe someone at rocktropia pushed a button... i certainly DOUBT about it ...

 

I have to agree MsArwen, that your content is all speculation, regardless of what reasoning you offer. Deathifier makes a good point as well, but ... MindArk said publicly that they will continue to manage the RCE factor across the board, and ... unless someone has absolute empirical evidence that there is something rotten in Denmark (sorry Lykke & Peter, and anyone else living in Denmark, it's just a slang phrase that started with Shakespeare's Hamlet basically meaning "foul play") ... then anything offered is strictly speculation.

Now ... do I think that my getting my 81k+ ATH on April 2nd 2008, which was right on my 3rd year anniversary, was intentional? Not even for a minute, because at the time, I was going hot and heavy with the crafting, which was well documented at EF, and there was enough PED involved with all the crafting of the OA-101's at the time to warrant more than one ATH, or mini-ATH's, which happened with others as well, very close to mine. As a matter of fact, they were all getting them on the crafting machine that I used and continued to use, with people like TOAST and Torlin, and others rackin' up multiple 5-figure loots.

I don't know whether loot pools are planet or location specific (look at CND and CP as well), but one thing I do know ... MA controls the RCE factor, as well as the code, and anything we think about how it all goes down is pure speculation and personal opinion, and not based on empirical evidence, which is fact.

Personally, I don't think there's anything fishy about Squall's ATH whatsoever, and feel that it is definitely well-deserved. I also have to agree with those who say that when you start playing the number of consistent hours he does, and sink as much money into EU as he does on a consistent basis, not to mention what USD it took to purchase two domes ($50,000), or maybe 3 by now, and you don't get barely or any return on that investment, then maybe we have something to talk about.

Deathifier is a huge investor for a long time now, and someone I have complete respect for in how he handles his business, so perhaps he has more of a position to speak from than we do in this matter from personal experience, so I'm definitely interested in his perspective, rather than continued speculation that is pure personal opinion without substance to support anything definitively.

Oh, and ... Magyar ... I just couldn't have said it more eloquently. You are now one of two of my most favorite writers in our community ... Janus being the other. You have such an incredible talent as a writer, so thank you for taking the time to share your critical thoughts and perspectives, they are appreciated. And yup, I am having a love affair with your writing if that wasn't clear already. :D

I can fully appreciate that sentiment my friend, and while I've learned about your personality quirks, it still doesn't negate the fact that you are indeed an exceptional writer, and I have no hesitation when it comes to pointing out someone's skills or talents as I see them ... same with the musicians and artists that we have in our community. You just happen to have a talent for something that I am incredibly passionate about. ;)

i mostly do everything to the max or i dont do it.. kinda some "perfectionism" i guess.

I am a crafter of ma109, so for me its even more motivating to be able to sell and also use them without being limited by offers.
i mean they are good amps viable at % used
(mind u in long run u do make some extra peds by crafting them but i have no advantages since i use them at % i sell them and u can trust me when i say they are way too cheap compared to the investment u make to be able to craft them and return at such low %, i got even pissed off when they are already hard at 126% and some people like to be annoying and sell at even more loss, well id rather just mine with them in that case, much better from my point of view)

they sell very good, i dont use them because i got too much, just because in the exemple of last weeks, i only craft ma109 oa109 and few stuff, and got spare times more to mine with my own ma109 that are viable so its cool, i wouldnt use oa109 obviously since whatever u do with them, if u dont get the 185% markup back u cant make it viable and there is only pvp4 as decent fields where u can expect to "survive with a oa109 at such price",
a 126% amp is a whole different world considering how good is matter mining nowdays ;) so i can grind harder, and recycle more amps aswell on this particular one atm, everytime i have some nice spare times, i try to go mining with ma109, but when iam in full crafting mode, u barely find extra time to do that, mining takes lot of times.

If i was to be forced to buy, things would have been roughly the same since i would still have seen that they are low prices
(but if i wasnt crafting them maybe they wouldnt be that easy to get and that cheap overtime tho )
so i would have used them if i find good combos anyway, markup paid vs markup found vs tt vs other hidden factors.

so anyway, crafting or buying is the same things, apart if by crafting it would mean amp would be for tt but its not the case :p

Well I'll put my 2 PEC in. With computers nothing is truly random. Second EU is product of MA. EU's whole reason for being here is to provide a service of entertainment through which the owning company makes money. Like any business in the world--certain favors or opportunities come to those that can increase the value of entertainment. Yeah it's all random and many variables are out there--but someone has to make those variables. With that just enjoy the entertainment you get :) .

My bad. I didn't know ~10 days was a necro post :P I never said it was unfair--I do like your twist of calling it funfair though...

 

Perhaps the loot pool doesn't have to always be in the black for MA - perhaps it doesn't need to "build up first" - maybe it can build up after... If I was MA I wouldn't mind that, as long as the figures still balance the same way, who cares if he gets his 110k before he's built it up? Also, maybe it's not specific to one planet.

Aside from that, I've gotta say that if someone DID want to hand squall 11k US (and that such funds were owed to him), doing it via the loot pool is not only ridiculously public and a mindboggling stupid way of trying to keep things under wraps (since all it does is fuel conspiracy theories), but it would also be unfair on squall that he'd have to forego his NORMAL loot to allow for the 11k (assuming, still that he's owed it). If I was squall in that situation, I'd MUCH prefer to receive the 11k some other way, AND get a normal return on my mining...

 

Umm mindark handles the loot not ND studios?

the only thing useful from this thread that I gathered was from xxsqualxxx's post that made me think it was time for me to take a mining trip to rocktropia. the rest was blah blah conspiracy blah blah why him and some posts that were vainly trying to stop people from their favorite pass-time of finding conspiracies. I think most people agree that there's no such thing and even if it were there would be nothing you could do and you probably wouldn't find out about it...must say I agree with stave and say these threads are really useless and damaging to a comunity...
