With the new ROCKtropia specific ores and enmatters I started to wonder if we need to split up the items section in the wiki and put them under the planet they are found at. Or should we have them all together and just add a category to the planet they are found or looted at. Your thoughts please?
Splitting into different planets would probably be best in my opinion. Provided if you can search for an item and it searches all planets or planet you select in search criteria. This is probably the best method in the long term as we'll have many planets coming online. If they were all in one list it's going to get more and more cumbersome...
so far the only items that were planet specific and they were in the list of weapons, not planet specific. Seems we need to split everything up.
seperate. there is already too much cruft in the game to sift through, no need to add stuff on another world if you dont go there so wont come in to contact with it.
Tricky since there are 3 categories of item: - items found on RT only - items found on Calypso only - items found on both So I think in addition to putting them into planet categories we maybe should put them on planet specific pages as well as the universal items on a general item page/section. (with LST and/or DPL extension we might come to a even smarter solution)
so one list at ROCKtropia on list at Calypso and on list that combines them, shouldn't be a problem I guess
OK done what I mentioned above 1 list of all the Calypso ores and enmatters: Calypso ores & enmatters - EntropiaPlanets Wiki - Information about Entropia Universe 1 list of all the ROCKtropia ores and enmatters: ROCKtropia ores & enmatters - EntropiaPlanets Wiki - Information about Entropia Universe and one list combining the 2: Ores & enmatters - EntropiaPlanets Wiki - Information about Entropia Universe I did just realize that the ores found on Calypso can also be found on ROCKtropia, so if any of you could tell me if ALL the Calypso ores are found on ROCKtropia to I could make some adjustments.
Due to the planets being owned by different partners, the possibilities for interplanetary commerce for raw materials seems low. Finished goods *may* be a different matter. Maybe an "Origin Planet" filter? "Off/Calypso/Rocktropia/Next..." would suffice and allow flexibility when the other partners come online?
The issue is that all items, resources, weapons, etc... can be used on any planet (so far) regardless of where it was looted, mined, or crafted. Therefor I feel the best would be to have them all in the same lists with each other and then on the item/resource specific page list where it can be found. The reason for this is say I want to look up available longblades for me to skill at a certain level. I want to find all available options as quickly as possible, not searching each planet that that item may have originated in. Ive been around a while and have a good idea of that stuff in my head, but it could remain unknown to a new player who is doing the same research. That is how I feel for the current Calypso/Rocktropia situation. Now if things change with other planets, for example time specific items that cant be removed from specific time periods of next island then you may need to rethink it. I think though that for the most part the "universe" feel of the game will remain and interplanetary trade will allow for items to be available everywhere (though for different prices depending on where your located) narfi
My idea was to make a list of the items that can be found on every planet and a list for every planets specific items. Then on every planet section we would add just the items found there and on a general item page we could put them all together. With the possibility to link stuff from one page to the other this is very easy to do, only thing is that we need to know what item can be found on all planets. So for the ores and enmatters I would like to know if all the ores and enmatters on Calypso can be found on ROCKtropia as well. If I know this I can finish the ores and enmatters and make a start with the other items.
Narfi, I hadn't thought about someone dragging all the raw materials and blueprints to another lanet to craft at their favorite term, but I guess it could happen. *shrug*
