I can tell you this much ... when the Admins get to the forum, this thread will be gone, because they have already made it perfectly clear that this ongoing drama is not welcome here.

 

why? seems a straight forward opinion peice, if others wish to respond in a grown up fashion its no bother. there's been far worse posted on this forum. i dont undetsand why this chap in particular is being attack so much. seems these radios are just a massive source of confrontation with conflicting egos, not the first time a game related radio has been involved in bitching.

I will however, state that my neg rep toward you is a comment on your reputation, and has little to do with the ongoing conversation. Reputation is unrelated to the ability to debate. I expressed my opinion of your reputation, which encompasses far more than one forum post.

That would be a shame, why? Just because it is controversial? Have no idea what this is all about, I haven't followed it at all, but I'm against censorship and locking threads in principle. If there would be a good reason for that, I would understand, but I don't see a good reason for it here tbh...

 

Not knowing what this is all about places you in an awkward position. The reason being, is that this in fact is not purely about a controversial topic at all. It is about a hefty dose of drama that escalated to great heights over the past few days, which in turn inspired the likes of comments that you will most likely continue to read in this thread.

Let me see if I can help you understand the situation a little better:

• for days now there has been feuding between Calypto and others
• this has led to an enormous amount of drama being played out at forums
• many threads and posts were deleted at EntropiaForum as a result of rule violation
• new threads with continued drama were created almost as fast as old ones were deleted
• the community at EF was getting sick of it and complained
• eventually, a few decided they would bring their drama here
• it was then that the Admins made it clear that EP was not a dumping ground
• it was also made clear that the type of threads and posting at EF surrounding the ongoing feuds would not be allowed here, and that threads would be closed if it did

Perhaps this helps? I was basing my post purely on what the Admins have already made clear. History over the past few days has proven that any thread started by any one of these individuals has ultimately turned into a flame fest and gotten locked or deleted.

You said that if there was good reason to lock a thread you would understand, so perhaps it might also help to be informed of the circumstances prior to making assumptions that the Admins would lock a thread based purely on being controversial. That is not the case at all.

Controversial topics are welcome, which can inspire healthy and constructive discussion so long as such are conducted within the guidelines of this forum's rules. This forum has greater flexibility and freedom as such, but it is not a platform for carrying out mudslinging and engaging in he said/she said flame fests that don't promote the type of discussions that are welcome.

I take no sides either, but rather look at the patterns of posting that have promoted threads to be locked and even deleted when it comes to this particular individual, his radio station, and the continued bickering between all parties involved that has rendered the community tired of it. This forum isn't as active, but the Admins have already had to get involved as a result of activities surrounding this situation.

I don't know what's true and what isn't. Therefore, I make no judgment. I just know that these types of threads have been very disruptive the past few days. Magyar posted an excellent thread recently about all of this, and perhaps it might also help for you to read it.

Then you got permission from the Admins to post this thread prior to posting it? Or are you saying that you had discussions before and got permission to post content surrounding the ongoing feud between you, your radio station and others at this forum.

The content in your opening post is continued food to fuel the fire Calypto, and I don't see how you aren't aware of that. It will incite others to come back and refute what you are offering as your side of a 2-sided story ... or more sides for that matter ... and you are asking the community to make judgment based on only what you offer.

As I said ... I take no sides, but with all due respect, your post is nothing short of an invitation to continue what has already been squashed at EntropiaForum where the community got sick of it, as well as strict warnings by the Admins here that a continuation of what the community has endured at the hands of you and others over the past several days will not be tolerated at this forum. I'm just repeating (paraphrasing) what has already been stated.

This is true, when Calypso posted yesterday I pm'ed him, that he can post to advertise for his radio station but that he had to remove everything which is harrashing other people. I also told Calypso, that all threads before this - of this topic - was locked or even deleted. Calypso told me back he would change the text if that would help him adressing this issue - and I thanked him, saying we would see how things go!

We see clearly how things are going now, again unfortunately, and perhaps I should not have given it this chance. I will therefor close the thread now! You had your saying, Calypso, but this is not really going very well, and I close it to prevent yet another flamewar. Sorry.
