GET READY TO RUMBLE On Saturday, September 18th at Billy’s, the First Round Picks took place for the Entropia Universe World Boxing Championships event that kicks off on Saturday and Sunday September 25th and 26th. Many of the participants and supporters of the event attended the launch party to learn what the match-ups would be. Some automatically advanced to Round 2, and while a few already know who their opponent will be, others await impatiently to discover who they will be facing off based on Round 1 results. The current schedule is listed here, and will be updated as needed. MASTER OF CEREMONIES Event promoter Oleg, Leader of the Skillin’ Villains society, once again steps into the ring as Master of Ceremonies extraordinaire to bring us yet another exciting season of the Entropia Universe World Boxing Championships for 2010. Coordinating and assembling a cast of many is no easy feat, yet he seems to do it with an air of ease. His sense of humor doesn’t hurt either, and perhaps helps in those more intense moments when things may not go as expected. GETTING INTO THE SPIRIT Competition seems to invite some predictable behaviors and activities, while some not so predictable, and the launch party was no exception. The chat window was filled with comic relief and predictions of who would win certain divisions, as well as some second guessing their involvement based on who they learned their opponent would be. Nonetheless, the experience was certainly entertaining, and gave me something to go on about while broadcasting the launch party live on MSR. There were those showing their colors, while others were moving with the mood (or not), and yet others who just couldn’t seem to get it together. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, START YOUR SMACK TALK Then of course, there was the usual smack talk, and psyching out known or potential opponents in order to somehow gain an edge. Some were subtle, and some not so subtle. Whatever the case may be, there were definite rumblings at Billy’s during the launch party, and people are preparing for yet another EUWBC that is seemingly building up toward becoming the much anticipated smack down event of the year. Full details of the event can be seen here, and whether you are a participant or an avid fan, this is one event you won’t want to miss. The event is being sponsored again by First Planet Company (FPC), as well as EntropiaPlanets.com and Globex Designs, Inc. Check out the full prize list by visiting the link provided above. There will be a live broadcast on MSR during the rounds played on Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th, as well as other rounds where schedule permits. I had a blast last year covering what I could of the event and found myself getting quite excited and animated in those tense last moments of a good fight where it could go either way. Of course, the open chat was quite entertaining as well. Don’t miss this fun-filled and often intense entertaining event. NOW ... .
:D LOL awesome job Thanks for the report and Sorry I wasnt there but I had to keep an eye on Enduro Boy ;)
TY MSR, EPMC & EUWBC. Further (historic) info about this annual event: Cat:EUWBC. And the actual event thread: EUWBC Draw, Results, Schedule.
Thanks MS9 for a great article, I'm very much looking forward to this year's tournament despite the headaches of trying to get 160 people to be at the right place at the right time :D
LOL welcome to my world for 6 months out of the year ;) I hope the event goes off without a hitch... you are a glutton for punishment, but you do a lot of good for the community.
Ahh, I see ... somebody get the keys to the car? :D Thanks Tass ... I must remember to use EP Wiki links. Well my dear ... the best you can do is post the schedule, provide the updates, and all pertinent information ... the rest is up to the participants to follow the rules and show up to fight, ya? However, in all fairness, I did see last year where some had computer issues, along with other legitimate instances, so it doesn't seem to ever be cut and dry. I can only imagine how time-consuming something like this must be, but you do it well. ;) Quite frankly my dear, I don't know how you guys do it. Much respect for even getting involved. EDIT: And for those who aren't in the know ... ROPE-A-DOPE The Rope-a-Doper revealed himself here. :D .
Awesome coverage, MindStar - thanks Good to know, that one can leave for 5 days and find, that things/news are still running smoothly on EntropiaPlanets!! Great work
