MA: Planet Calypso Forum!

Since this is my first post, all I have to say on the subject is wait and see. I think it might be a great step forward, but only time will tell.!! :D

I can say that if every planet has to set up their own forums, then its going to be very hard to keep track of what is going on. :D

Good they are finally doing this.

Good they are obtaining the thread database. A lot of good info that will help them in long run.

BAD they are obtaining the user database. TOTAL BS! Under 711's privacy he is to get permission prior to releasing personal info (my email IS PRIVATE). If I wanted to be part of the new forum, I WOULD REGISTER MYSELF!

So I went in to delete my email. Although it says optional, it won't let you proceed unless you have one in. So I put a bogus one in, then it "unactivates" my account and sends new activation code to the new email address.

Wow they are perfect with each other.

 

i m not very interested about what the old EF will be under planetcalypso....... i m actually very courious to see what entropiaforum.com will be ......... a forum planets dedicated??????? let me add ohoh

 

When 711 relaunches EntropiaForum again in about 2-3 weeks, it will be more of an "all universe" focus, and not Planet Calypso or any one planet specifically.

 

In other words its going to be about "Entropia Planets" which seems to be trademark infringement.

 

Previously banned members will be able to ask to be reinstated. I think it was worded in such a way as to not guarantee a return to the land of the living though.

What the heck, give it a try. :)

Grats to FPC for making an official forum, also grats to EP for now being the biggest independent forum :)

 

Well I'm registering here at EP after occasional lurking. Best to keep all viable bases covered. EP seems to have some legs unlike other fly by night forums.

For this game that is not a game a truly (hopefully this one stays that way) independent forum as well as the long overdue official forum is needed.

Still taking a wait and see attitude towards how and for how long MAFPC will run their new acquisition, hopefully it will work out for the best but after 4+ years in and out of game I'm not about to hold my breath.

 

Well... hopefully this means ep gets more people... I might peek into the new fpc forum (not entirely happy of it being an official one) and the new ef, but I surely don't need 3 fora for one game... especially since I still have other games/fora too... ef and ep seem to be direct competitors when the new ef is launched. Interesting times.

 

I'm sure we will all peak around ;) I always been a member of 'them all' (perhaps there's a few I missed) - but it's just as much as to be able to have an idea of what's moving around. So of course we hope more people will join EP, but we also know that most probably will not because it IS difficult to keep track in a lot of forums(and they will still be a member of one - even if it's the official one). We hope that what EP offers is so special and interesting, that people will visit us inbetween - and that being able to contribute to a 'real community platform' means something to some :)

 

I personally think the forums that cover Multiple Planets will be very popular. Even though each Planet Partner would start their own forums, they cannot cover every other Planet Partner. We will all need a place to check out whats going on with all them. What I think will happen is people will gravitate towards what ever format/writing/community they like best.

 

What makes me wounde most is that the only notification about this was on EF. Nothing in my mailbox. Imagine me travelling for 2 weeks and coming home. I shouldn't know what happened? Nothing in my mailbox from EF, FPC or anyone else... That's bad IMO.

That's quite shitty :( all the work done, which needs to be redone now. I'm not sure if 711 told FPC about that - but I'm sure he knew about it.

I also realized a couple of other things!!! But atm I'm more ... speachless and will sleep on it!

 

Could you run a rename script for EntropiaForum.com to PlanetCalypsoForum.com - PlanetCalypsoForum Portal or something like that?
