After the short discussion about the new VU 11.3, i thought it might be a good idea to do a small, fast poll. What do you think will be the content of 11.3? We know it's big, not just a content update, and we know it has nothing to do with FPC. So, it's either a new planet, a new system like cars, or an old system returning like mindforce. So, what does the Entropia Planets community think? (Multiple choices allowed)
After reading the awesome interview with David Post in EntropiaTimes online Magazine, I somehow have a feeling it might be Next Island. In the last bit, when MindStar asks him when they hope to release the planet, he says, that he it's planned to happen October 12th *or thereabouts* ^_^ .... Imagine they where done before deadline? :D (I tried looking into the poll, but I can't add yet another point :( sorry)
That would be the first time in EU history I think it is a few new missions and the Port Atlantis area redone and some stability issues of course
I don't think it's going to be Next Island, because when I talked with David Post, he said that it would be around the 12th of October, but couldn't pinpoint an absolute date, so I'm guessing if it's not on, or around that date, then it will be later than earlier, but ... there's always a first time for a Planet Partner to surprise us. :D I happen to think that it will most likely be the face lift that Port Atlantis and Swamp Camp are getting, if not makeup and taming ... not sure about beacons, BUT ... if it IS beacons, then my purple ass is all over it for sure. Spike ... get the TDO crew ready for a spin in space we're WAY overdue.
WTF? No "Improved Client Stability" choice??? My guess would be that we may not see much on the Calypso or Rocktropia end of things. There has to be some server side stuff put in place to accomodate the new partners. My Oiuja Board says this will put planet partner alpha test stuff on the production environment, allowing time for debugging of major content issues for NI by the official rollout date. That's how my mmorpg company would work, anyway.
no one believe a new secret planet wow... I hope for beacons tho, would be awesome but then all old stuff would be awesome :D
Razer and Mindstar9: Hanne said that their update of the PA area will come next week, and that this VU has nothing to do with FPC, plus it's rating denotes that it will be a big change. fingers crossed for beacons
I never should have trusted that damn Ouija Board! I've never been this wrong and this happy about it! LOL Flying vehicles FTW!
re: Razer & Alphageek: Unfortunately it seems i wasn't the only one to forget "Improved client stability". MA forgot all about that small detail too... :(
And then there's this fun little feature that will get their minds to thinking: > How many ways can we kill an Avatar? Of course, "Cartoon Physics" need not apply here..! And now we're going to ahve to have them implement.. parachutes.. Buying Parachute, TT+20 at Booth next to Club Neverdie on Rocktropia Benjamin "Ben" Coyote, a.k.a. "The Blind Sniper"
There's an Old saying MS9, "It's not how fast you're going, It's the sudden stop taht kills you!" And apparently MA has decided that it's time for us to learn how to be careful in making ourdecisions (you might that you now have to look, before you leap..) Also as to how far you have to fall before you hit "Terminal (As n "Death") velocity, is in fact a scant 99 meters in vertical distance. if you're a low level player like a newcomer (with just over 88 health), then maybe you'll be able to survive a 60 meter fall, at best. But once you pass 100 meters in free fall, well then you might as well sit back enjoy the view, and wait for impact, cause when you do, your avatar definitely will feel it. But hey, remember when we used to jump at Jason Centre down on Calypso and you could fall over 2 kilometers and land on the ground? Well now, you fall just over 100 meters and you are 'Street Pizza" (oh and the place where I jumped off at is well over that.. Try about 500 meters, and that inflicted enough point damage that I actually died.. (in the videi I hit a piece of ground, bounced, and hit again.. killing me..) So yeah that video I posted is definitely proof, we are not super men nor women.. and just like real life, our in game lives have become interstingly more complicated.. However on an upside, if you are wearing armor and you fall? Your armor doesn't decay. Also if you're in a car and you fell off that sheer drop, well interestingly enough, the car structural integrity decreases upon impact, but the car does not decay in the least. (I tested this out with my own vehicle, and I landed square on all four wheels and only took about 2-3 structural integrity points from the car, yet I was able to get out of the car, fix it, and drive away. and this is from a 500 meter drop..) Now this brings up an interesting point, and this could be changed at any time.. Think aobout this.. You're in your car, and you're being chased by a mop, and in order to escape them you jump off the side of a cliff, and fall with the car, and land safely on the ground. You take no damage, but the car does, even However if you bail out halfway in freefall and you and the car fell together your car takes damage as do you, thus, you get killed and your car takes damage... But this is where 'Toon Logic' kicks in.. let's say in real life, you're in a vehicle, and you go over the side of a cliff, that car should be scrap metal, and you should be as well (since a car would take a lot more points of damage and thus would be transferred to ou. so let's hope MA doesn't use the reverse of that Logic and decides that if you take a plummet off a cliff, and you hit something, well your'r car explodes, you are ejected and you fall the rest of the way to your death.. But eh you know MA, they'll figure it out soon enough. Benjamin 'Ben' Coyote a.k.a. "The Blind Sniper"
