In the light of recent developments with other Entropia community forums, and the questions arising among the users because of these developments, we figured this would be a good time to once again share with you some of our thoughts and ideas that drive us into working on the EntropiaPlanets website. As we wrote in our initial Mission Statement : The statement above has been revised and now reads: We would once again like to stress that we are a 100% independently owned forum. The forum has been founded, and funded by Lykke and myself, and from whatever donations we received from private supporters (thank you!). We are normal players, with no substantial amounts of money at stake in the universe, and we hoped that EntropiaPlanets would grow to become a place where we can celebrate the wonders of a Real Cash Economy game, while at the same time ensuring that there is a place where concerned players can voice their opinion about the platform in a constructive way, without having to fear repurcussions. We strongly feel that we are paying customers of the Entropia Universe, and that we have a right to voice concerns and/or opinions, be they good or bad. Constructive criticism is an excellent vessel for providing an entity with pointers on how to improve, and we expect and hope that if you think we can improve, you let us know about it so we can take action and hopefully improve your experience even more. The last, luckily has been done, and as a direct result of this feedback, we have changed the forum structure in order to simplify things, and provide a much more intuitive approach to the forums. This move involved moving some of the forums and subforums around order to have the setup make more sense, and we have also consolidated some of the subforums into more generic sections. The EntropiaPlanets forum was born out of a love for the game, and the community that makes this game so special, not as a way to make money. We aim to serve you, the community, by providing you with the latest news and stories. It is your content and contributions that actually make a forum into a community meeting ground where ideas can be exchanged and thoughts or theories can be discussed. Without you, our users, participating, a forum would not be much more than some programming code sitting idle on a server somewhere (in our case, the UK). Yes, we have a clause in our terms of service regarding content generated by our members, but the wording seemed to be too restrictive. Therefore, effective immediately, we loosened up the clause. The old clause read: This has been changed to: The above effectively means that we pledge we as forum owners will not reproduce or copy your content to other media. Should a desire for that ever arise, we will make sure we will contact you as the owner of the content, and ask for your formal permission. For recurring columns or articles specifically created for EntropiaPlanets, we will make individual arrangements with their authors regarding their copyrights. We also want to make it known that in the unlikely event that we should consider a sale of the site, we will give you, our users, advance notice of such an event so you will have ample time to decide what you wish to do with the content you provided to the site. We hope that this message will clarify a few of the thoughts and ideas of where we want to take EntropiaPlanets, and that this serves as a reassurance of where and how you, as a user of our forum, fit in. We appreciate all the support and feedback we have received so far, and we are looking forward to improving ourselves further. Kind regards, Lykke, and Peter, on behalf of the whole EntropiaPlanets staff.
EntropiaPlanets changes its terms of service and mission statement... For the bet This is really great you guys, and I think you provide a great service to the EU community in what you do at and with EntropiaPlanets.
