In this thread I will try to answer most of the questions I am asked as a high level texturizer (material designer) and colorer. Customizing Any item with (C) at the end of the name, which means "customizable" can be textured and colored (clothes, furniture, storage boxes). Basically is like two layers on an item - one layer are textures and the other colors. Tools needed: for coloring you use a colorator and for texturizing you use a texturer. You can add a bleacher to both of them - that allows you to bleach colors/textures. For colors: Ziplex 'Fashion Line' Colorator (L) For textures: Ziplex T100 Texturizer (L) Bleacher (colors): Ziplex 'Fashion Line' Bleacher Addon (L) Bleacher (textures): Ziplex B101 Material Texture Bleacher (L) If the item you are customizing is full tt you get back 90% of the tt value of the texture/paint. If the item is not full tt the returns goes into the items tt value. So the cost to have something customized is = MU + 10%tt + Fee Markup on the textures/colors, 10% of the tt value of the texture/colors used, fee charged for the service. Texturizer View Colorizer View Different items have 1 to 3 customizable fields, but most items have 3 fields. To texture/color an item with 3 fields you need 3x330 texture/colors. If you want to change an already textured/colored item you can bleach it (the cost to bleaching is 1.2 pecs). You cannot bleach only one field tho, so you have to bleach the whole layer (either textures or colors). Success when applying For a 100% success when applying you need to use 330 textures/paint cans a field. Lower numbers can be used, but does not guarantee maximum success. But from 90%-100% success the texture/color looks basically perfect. Anything below 90% is where you can notice more of a pale shade of the texture/color. (As seen below) An approximate outcome using different amounts of textures/cans: 323 textures/cans ~ 100% ** 300 textures/cans ~ 98% 250 textures/cans ~ 90% 200 textures/cans ~ 75% *note is just a guideline, sometimes the % outcomes could be much better or worse using these amounts. **Only if you have 323 textures/colors on all fields. Recommended and maxed levels On every texture/paint (in the item info) can you can see the Recommended level for using it. Most people think that that is the level needed to apply the texture/paint. But that is not the case. In order to apply a texture/paint with 100% chance of success you need to reach the max level of the texture/paint. The max levels grows with the recommended levels - from +1 level at start to +8 levels with high level textures (same as all other SIB items ingame). The maxed levels are the real indicator of what level a texturer/colorer has to be to successfully apply a texture/paint without the help of enhancers. You can find tables with maxed levels for Textures and Paints in the next post. Enhancers Texture and pigment enhancers (looted sometimes when applying, that's why the high markup on them) are used to help reach the maxed level of a texture/paint which is beyond the skill of the avatar who is trying to apply. A texturer/colorer needs 10 enhancers per level for which he or she is not maxed. For example if a lv 30 texturer wants to apply lets say frigulite texture (maxed at lv 35) they will need 50 enhancers. But note that 330 textures and the correct amount of enhancers does not guarantee 100% success. You can find Texture Enhancers in auction under "Materials - Texture Extractors" and Basic Pigment Enhancers under "Materials - Paints" Combinations Playing with different textures and colors can really make you outfit unique and interesting, mach your Armour with your coat and fancy up your apartment and pimp up your ride. There are so many different options to choose from in the textures area, not to mention the effect of colors on textures. My personal favorite is Orange paint on Blausarium (fake Crimson), which totally changes the texture. There are infinite amount of combinations, the sky is the limit really :)

Maxed levels for Textures and Colors Thanks for posting the information Summer, much appreciated, but you might want to change your text color so that it's more readable. The dark blue against the black is very difficult to read. I want to see what all you got, and what you can do.
Maxed levels for Textures and Colors I have to agree here. Great info--but very unreadable with the colours.
Way cool, Summer :) Thanks for posting. I'm sure a lot of people would love to know more about coloring (including myself). ^_^ (I took the liberty to change the blue color into a brighter blue color, to make sure everyone can read it, no matter what forum skin they chose.)
the max level pictures have no links and are so tiny .. I cannot read it like that and I guess nobody else can too ;) can someone include a link to the gallery below the pix?
