. When I heard the news that there was a new strain of bot invading Port Atlantis beach and Billy's, I immediately grabbed my gear to see if I could capture some photos and video. Upon arrival atop the Port Atlantis Mall, I found red dots covering the radar over the beach below. As I ran to the edge of the mall roof I could see people range-shooting from various levels in the city proper to draw this new bot called a Steel Bird close enough to engage in full-on combat. In the meantime, people scattered on the beach below fighting off the attackers that also included the JamRaiders. It was a veritable laser light show at times, except for the occasional rocket launcher explosion while clusters of the Steel Birds hovered above. Some colonists landed on the beach with their spaceships, while others patrolled the beach in Pitbulls and other vehicles. David Westmoreland was broadcasting live on Atlas Haven Radio, and not only alerting our fellow colonists of the invasion, but also thanked them for heeding the call to come fight against the bots. He observed the battlefield both from air and land while providing live coverage of the ongoing fight to protect Port Atlantis beach. There were casualties, but the strong remained persistent. I needed to get in closer to see just how aggressive the Steel Bird and JamRaiders were, so immediately took to the air in my StarShip9 to survey the area. While I seemed to have gotten the attention of a few, they were docile, other than engaging in combat with colonists who were the aggressors. At one point, I inched my way in closer to a single Steel Bird hovering at the edge of the beach, as if surveying who the next target might be. The closer I got, the more attention I got, but still no aggression. It was only after lowering the StarShip9 below the Steel Bird that an explosion seemed to occur, but I soon realized that a colonist on the beach had indeed launched a rocket and got its attention which drew it away. After I was able to collect a few photos and video footage, I headed over to Billy's to find a less engaged group of colonists, as the bots didn't seem to be as plentiful as they were at Port Atlantis. There were Steel Birds mixed with Attackers not far outside the gate. Colonists like gunzy, Mikass and Hmm were busy ridding the area of these annoying flyers. On any battlefield, there's always a risk for reporters snapping photos and capturing video footage, but I was able to at least get proof that shows the rest of the colony exactly what the scene is like for those unable to join their fellow colonists at this time to fight against this new strain of bot. I may not be able to get back to the scene of battle anytime soon, so I urge all colonists to do their part in protecting Calypso. Head to Port Atlantis beach or Billy's and help extinguish these pesky bots. Until the next battle, here is a short video that gives you a little idea of what this invasion is all about. >
STEEL BIRDS - Attack PA & Billys - (w/VIDEO) nice article MS9. To bad I hate to hunt bots or I would have shot more then 2 of them.
STEEL BIRDS - Attack PA & Billys - (w/VIDEO) Thanks MS9!! I am at work and can't be in game yet. I am very happy you are in this community and you tirelessly bring us news. (By the way, that music in the video was fabby)
STEEL BIRDS - Attack PA & Billys - (w/VIDEO) Thank you my dear friend ... and that's exactly what we aim to do here, keep it fresh and revolving as much as our time allows us to. Unfortunately, we all have real lives too. One of the reasons that teaser threads are done at PCF, is because we have to upload photos to the PCF gallery if we post there, and if we have several photos in an article, then it's a pain in the ass (and time-consuming) to have to upload them again. We are an independent Entropian forum with staff that work hard to bring news, information, and a magazine to this community. Unfortunately, one planet partner bought the collective community with the purchase of the EF database, and with restrictions levied on us by PCF in how we can post, it makes the community as a whole not so reachable. :( We are not a planet partner, and we are not in competition with PCF, but rather dedicated to supporting the efforts of all planet partners in their efforts to promote their planet. I write exclusively for EP now, and we're doing the best we can to keep the community informed. There's going to be another big change happening soon, and it's going to be interesting to see how the community handles it. You can bet that we will be reporting on it for sure, but I have a feeling that this is the only place you'll be able to read what we offer. ;) Ya, I loved the music too!
STEEL BIRDS - Attack PA & Billys - (w/VIDEO) Very nice post! I knew there was a reason i keep visiting entropiaplanets way more frequently lately :)
STEEL BIRDS - Attack PA & Billys - (w/VIDEO) wow, I go to have supper and watch a movie and what happens when I'm away?? PURPLE MAGIC happens!! Very nice story, MindStar :) awesome pictures too (and video) So the question now remains ... should I go upstairs with the Priest and watch LOTR ... OR should I convince him to log in and shoot some birds??? :D (Giev birds)
STEEL BIRDS - Attack PA & Billys - (w/VIDEO) Lykke, I say log in!!!! You can always take care of the priest later ;) I know I am sending Sam away to go play poker so I can play without him bugging me :D
STEEL BIRDS - Attack PA & Billys - (w/VIDEO) LOL :D we're still in game ... but I'm soon gonna drag him upstairs ;)
STEEL BIRDS - Attack PA & Billys - (w/VIDEO) We just need to equip the MS9 Purple Warriors with purple plasma rail guns and all will be ok again !:D
STEEL BIRDS - Attack PA & Billys - (w/VIDEO) Nun for you then i guess? ;) Lol Awesome article again MS9. Hawkwing and I were on PA Mall when you arrived. Very impressive to see people firing from the roof tops and balconies too. Keep it up people, we ain't seen teh last of them yet.
STEEL BIRDS - Attack PA & Billys - (w/VIDEO) Oh HELL ya! The purple StarShip9 needs a built-in arsenal for those moments I need to blow somebody's ass outta the sky ... not to mention the other parts.
STEEL BIRDS - Attack PA & Billys - (w/VIDEO) If you're not flying blaus, then why bother getting in the cockpit at all ;) I cranked the graphics down a notch and tried the birds in PA. Not so difficult to kill, and the max damage I took was a 100 point crit. For me the loot was either novas or SK50 L, but I only had time to kill 5. So I strongly recommend everyone forget these new bots, and go back to hunting your usual mobs (so I get all the loot myself). Very nice spawn E Zeus btw
STEEL BIRDS - Attack PA & Billys - (w/VIDEO) Are they gone again already? Peter went for them yesterday but couldnt find them at Billy's?
