Well, while I was waiting for the client to install I figured I would do my research, which brought me to this site! I must say, it is a pleasure to be here. Right now, I still have roughly 30 minutes left on the install, and I can't wait to play! I look forward to making new friends, and learning how to play, then passing that knowledge along to newcomers in the future. Any question for me? I shall do my best to answer them.
Hey Pandora :) Great to see you here, welcome. While you wait, check out our forum integrated Wiki (also from the top nav menu bar ;) ) we also have a fun conquest system, some tools to use in the nav menu "Tools" :) Also, check out our online magazine here: EntropiaTimes we will soon release the next Issue, 12th of December! If you have any questions, do not hesitate asking - we have a newcomer section too :) Have fun and see you around ^^ Lykke
@ Lykke Thank you, I have been skimming the wiki for a bit now. And I won't hesitate to ask...how else will I learn? @ RAZER Yahoo news and a $600,000 purchase. I had not even heard of the game up to that point. But I did my research, and it looked fun, so I figured....Why the hell not?
Thanks guys! Oh, it turns out I started on Rocktopia as opposed to Calypso....is this going to be a major problem? ~_~
Welcome aboard! Rocktropis is it's own economy, locations, monsters, etc. That'll limit the ability of some of us steadfast Calypso colonists from offering much advice, but don't sorry too much, as a good number of experienced players have visited or migrated. ...besides, when you get 40 PEDs, you can always pay the TP fee and come to Calypso. :) PS: Keep that box closed! You dunno what's in it!
Only if you think it is :) There are advantages and disadvantages to both planets. I am on Rocktropia and really enjoy it. It is a newer planet and so can be more difficult getting started. On the other hand though you are a pioneer at the start of something great, there will be more opertunities in a new world for new players than on Calypso who already has its ubers and professionals who have figured out all the niches. Its all about personality and what you want out of it. That will have to be up to you though :) gl and have fun :) narfi
Thanks! As for starting on Rocktropia, I'm stuck in the starting area. No matter which way I go, a disgruntled 'dancer' kills me.
I don't want to be a "Calypso Recruitment Officer", because I know rocktropia has its unique aspects and also needs its newbies. But for the sake of spreading information, Calypso has a much smoother start for newbies.
:) The same thing that brought me here 4 years ago, but then it was the same asteroid bought for $100.000. Welcome
yep Narfi it seems everyone in game is here because of some big sale in the past. For me it was Treasure Island for a small amount of 25.000 dollar (small compared to the amounts people pay these days).
