SEE Virtual Worlds bought Calypso?

Just as an FYI ... I started my investigation back in September, and ... I have not revealed everything I know with good reason, so ... the only thing I can suggest is to sit tight for a bit longer. :)

 

Hmm... new theory... MS9 bought Calypso! :D

They could get revenue from operating the planet. As an example, FPC could get paid X amount as long as they maintain the planet income it the same level as say the 12 months before the sale, with some extra % out of any additional income. There would of course be break-away clauses too so the IP owner could get a new operator if FPC failed really bad.

This way, anybody could theoretically be the new owner, including an alternative investments fund. Though a new media company that can add a MMO to its portfolio and on the other hand reuse its existing channels for advertsing would be a more likely candidate.
