I received a heads up from Zac Simpson that this interview with ND was just released and thought I would share it here. Zac Simpson is the freelance journalist who wrote the 3-part Entropia Universe Expose not that long ago.

MA/Marco/other interviews have made it quite clear that MA retain economic control, there is no scope to drop dozens of Mod Faps in Rocktopia or make one planet have higher returns than an other. The economies will be balanced universally. How Neverdie plans to work within this framework and do what he says in the quoted post will be interesting, but he is creative. he's also prone to overstatement and over-enthusiasm, remember this is the man who advertised a $5million space pirate treasure.

To add, having (finally) read the article, the paragraph before tht quoted here makes it fairly clear how this is going to work: its permenant Land Grab combined with the Oil rig.

those "studios" sound very interesting too and might be a real draw to a lot of people, depends how much freedom he has to create them ad hoc or what they will cost.

  6. I dont really see any potential for the studios. What would it offer compared to using a normal computer and record some demo, make a musicvideo and put on youtube and try and get some songs on Itunes

The "studio" whould be a show case for an act. like myspace but with 3D avatars around. have a chat with the artists, other fans, with streamed music and videos on the walls. Interaction is what is offers.

  8. And you think people would sit and download a huge client and then PAY for the interaction? How many people got famous from JamHot Records? Lol

I am sorry, but I cant see it working after the initial wowfactor

:dunno: whats Jamhot got to do with it? i dont think you're getting it, other way round, established bands have fans drop in. yes it is niche, but say a dozen main stream names, twice more more fringe acts... exposure to hundreds of thousands of hardcore fans. wow factor is all important to get people in the door, once here they might stay. fans pay hundreds of dollars to see an act, traveling hundreds of miles, you think leaving a download overnight and a few $10 is going to bother them? huge potential.

  10. We'll see. I wont be holding my breath
