EntropiaPlanets tutorial competition

With more planets opening up soon, we figured it is time to get more tutorials aimed at newcomers to our universe, to be posted here on EntropiaPlanets, and then shared with planet partner forums. While we certainly cannot pull customized armor out of thin air as a compensation, what we *can* do is reward contributions with PED, and we hereby commit to do so promptly.

In total, we will hand out 1,000 PED (one thousand Project Entropia Dollars) to winning entries, where the author of each winning tutorial will receive 100 PED for their efforts.

EXTRA PRIZE: We will also add ONE printed copy of the March edition of EntropiaTimes magazine (www.entropiatimes.com) amongst everyone who participates - chosen by a randow drawing to determine a winner. But this prize requires, that the winner afterwards pm us his/her real life adresses for the shipping :)

In order to streamline things a little, we have come up with 10 different topics for a tutorial, and a few brief guidelines.

• Interface and Controls
• Hunting
• Mining
• Crafting
• MindForce
• Beauty System
• Land Management
• Event Creation
• Economy
• Etiquette and Reputation

Tutorials should be extensive enough to cover the basics of the system without getting too long-winded or detailed. However, we will definitely look for quality in the tutorials. All decisions made by the judges are final. In case we receive multiple equally good guides, we will consider awarding all authors.


Rules:

Judges are Lykke, MindStar and Peter. Judging will be done without prejudice. Anyone willing to write a tutorial is free to enter the competition. Entering the competition can be done by posting a thread in the tutorial section of the forum with the tutorial in it, and sending a private message to me, or Lykke containing your full ingame avatar name. Should you be unable or unwilling to post your tutorial in that section, but you do want to enter the competition, then please mail it to admin at entropiaplanets dot com. Be advised that if you participate in that manner and end up winning for a specific category, then we reserve the right to post the tutorial on your behalf after the competition ends (after all, there's no point in writing a tutorial you're not willing to have shared).

All entries should be submitted no later than APRIL 1st, 23:59:59 MindArk time. We will announce the winning tutorials within 10 days after the competition ends.

Should your tutorial entry be selected, you grant EntropiaPlanets the rights to copy and share the tutorial with our partner sites (specifically planet partners) and allow us to add a copy of the tutorial to the EntropiaPlanets Wiki (of course while giving proper credits) if we so desire. A list of all the winners along with a picture of their avatars will be published in the June edition of the EntropiaTimes magazine.

If you have an original (meaning not published elsewhere) and updated (as in significantly, and not meaning just changing a few words around and calling it your own) one, then by all means, feel free to add it. I'll hereby add a category "other", and add to the prize money for that category. If there's multiple different "other" tutorials, how about I'll actually commit up to 500 PED extra for those?

We have winners!

I assigned the participants a number, with the tutorials submitted being the numbers. Thus, nutrageti got number 1, TheOneOmega 2 and 3, and Fuega number 4.
A random number generator then was used to determine the winner of the magazine.

Well. We did not receive duplicate entries, so basically every tutorial submitted qualified :) With that said, not all requested categories have been filled yet, so you still can grab 100 ped for a tutorial :)
