By Zeus, Ancient Greece has been unlocked on Next Island

The Next Island Forum is buzzing with excitement after avatar "Honey Kitten Little" from society "Delta Force" posted screenshots and information about her use of the Time Travel Portal on Next Island, and undertaking the journey to Ancient Greece.

Gathering from her comments, at this very moment the continent is not exactly finished yet, as it seems to be lacking a lot of content. However, there have been discoveries on new creatures and MOBs, and some additional background information into the way the whole time traveling business works.

As can be seen from the screenshot above, use of the time traveling portal (which can be found at coordinates 141015/86912), will require the participant to have at least three Time Travel Crystals in their carried inventory. Furthermore, when you use the portal, all equipped "modern" items (which includes clothing), will be rendered unusable. Before getting overly excited, though, one thing we ought to point out is that time travel crystals are far from easy to come by. They require a plethora of ingredients, including a blueprint that has been bugged in the past (it drops as a mission reward, but apparently not everyone finishing the mission was able to obtain one).

Apart from that, lots of high-level avatars have reported getting nothing but failure clicks while crafting, and the ingredients required (chimera eye, refined obsidian crystals, refined muscovite crystals, skeleton hand, chimera blood, shark blood, skeleton hand, skeleton soul, drake heart and shark eye) are hard enough to come by that a single crystal would have set you back about 200 PEDs a week ago. With 3 crystals needed, that means that unless the drop rates for these items are adjusted, visiting Ancient Greece is not for the poor.

Items unable to be used are indicated by the item being grayed out in the inventory, as can be seen in the screenshot below.

You are also not able to drop the item anywhere on the Ancient Greece continent.

Weapon-wise, the only weapons Kitten has been able to use on Ancient Greece have been Ice Daggers, which are a Next Island native weapon (looted). All other Calypso weapons do not seem to work. However, do not give up hope yet, as new weapons and items have already been discovered. At the time of writing, the discovery list showed the following items discovered by Kitten (in order of TT value):

• Amazon Wrist Guard

• Minotaur Arm

• Minotaur Shin Guard

• Amazon Helmet

• Minotaur Tail

• Amazon Sandle (SIC)

• Amazon Hair

• Amazon Leg

• Minotaur Leg

• Amazon Arm

As you can see, the sword might be a solution, though the one pictured above apparently broke down after 5 swings. It appears to be limited, though the item name does not explicitly state so. The Herb Box from the discovery list appears to be some sort of a FAP, but a bugged one, as it appears to heal anything between 0 and 0 HP.

While weapons and items from Calypso do not work in Ancient Greece, apparently someone forgot to also ensure unique loot for the continent. Kitten reported looting Muscurvite, ammo and explosive ammo, muscle oil, tiering components and corrosive chips (neither the ammo, nor the chips can be used, so why these drop in Ancient Greece is something that will have to be looked at).

Mob-wise, judging by the item discoveries list, there are Amazons, Minotaurs, and Cyclops. The latter are in true NDS fashion, with high health, low damage mobs, presumably to ensure higher chances to HOF.

According to Magyar, Kitten is however not the first person to land in Ancient Greece, but the first to document her journey. We will try and see if we can uncover who the mystery first time traveler was.

You can always try and send a support ticket. I don't think it will work getting anything working any time, but perhaps they can relocate you back? It'd suck losing so much money over that, though.
