Hihi Stumbled upon this page this morning thought I'd share. Why must Planet Cyrene be so hot? cytest
sorry to say, i found that disappointing. i would expect a development near realease to have a far more comprehensive web site. i also worry they've changed direction, Dragons, spears, stone castles... where are the frickin' lasers? save us Arkadia, you're our only hope...
Holy Mackerel !!! What a find...I've died and gone to heaven :) Love it ... Ed it's a great site and passes the Ace test with flying colours you can release the full version now :D
They've had stone castles since the beginning. We've seen the concept art of that castle before in the games radar interview well over a year ago
i confess i havent followed Cyrene very closely for a long time, mostly due to being bored waiting for it. 3 years.
Well that's the great thing about planets ;) If you Planet Cyrene doesn't fit your needs, then there is other planets like Arkadia and planet Michael, Arabian planet, etc etc. Personally I'm getting a bit bored of Calypso and I'd rather not touch anything that NDS have produced.
Some pretty sharp looking art there. I wonder if the planet will open in the next few years. I know it's gonna look amazing!
Thanks for sharing! Always convenient for those of us not actively following all these planets in the works.
Wow you guys are fast (I tried warning them that you guys where good)! This was only supposed to be up for a small time until we took it back down. I made a joke and told the team that if they put it up it would be found and now they will see I was not kidding. Luckily it is not the complete site so they won't spaz out. I actually wanted to share more and now it's not my leak. ; ) Great work Misao. The site is not complete and will not be launched until April when it is scheduled for release. I did not want to make another release date because I have been burned in the past. I have however convinced the team to keep this test page up and it will slowly change. Feel free to comment on anything you may like or not like so much. Who knows your involvement may change the final look of the site if the community feels strongly enough. Also to Airdash, we apologize the game is taking so long. The truth is an MMO of our scope takes a very long time to make. Normally it takes 4 to 5 years but having the Entropia backbone has helped us out incredibly. Also the tools offered by EU are much more sophisticated and complete from when we started and we evolve with them. The only reason I bring it up is because we have been working hard this whole time and do not want you (the community) to feel as if we are slacking. I must humbly say that creating a game such as this is very time consuming and many of us are putting in the midnight oil for several years now. As for the Lasers, we have our fair share and then some. Our world is based on different philosophies and ideals. We have chosen different themes to explore these ideas even though they may not make sense at this moment. We are definitely not for everyone but I can assure you our friends at Planet Arkadia will more then fulfill your needs when they launch. I do agree it is what makes the Entropia Universe platform so great.
1. Background I like the background very much but I noticed one problem on my home computer it doesn't stretch the full width of my wide screen monitor (it's about 10cm short). At work the background does stretch the full width of my wide screen monitor. Also I have noticed many planet partners seem to be opting for a background that shows a view of their planet from space i.e. Arkadia, Beladcom and Cyrene. This can be good but differentiation may be better. Seems to me the planet partners who open later will have a tougher time to be different from the earlier planets i.e. they'll find it increasing more difficult to be different as the obvious things would allready have been done. Perhaps a background that changes depending on what time of the day you look at it would be intriguing? Not sure if that's possible to do or a background that is manually changed changed after some days. Having said all that I actually prefer the existing space background even though it may lack originality (due to other PP's also having somethign similar). 2. Homepage headline pictures The pictures that change on the home page I think should have a slightly longer delay before changing. Also these pics are not as good as they could be in terms of resolution. They seem to deteriorate with each image. The last one of the insects has broad strokes so the original is probably not too detailed. Since it's the home page these pics I feel need to be of a much better quality. Most pics in the media section are of a better quality especially the worm thing coming out of the lava. A pic of that standard should be on front page imho. 3. Overall Overall I like the structure and layout it's clean and professional looking. Would be intresting to see how it looks with proper content though.
wow good work. It's good to know you guys are not "slacking" as you called it yourself ed... one could certainly get that impression in the past months but once you got a proper website maybe with a way to communicate with the devs that feeling should be easy to avoid. Maybe you could also continue your blog like that: http://www.entropiaplanets.com/forums/blogs/ed-robles-3/37-inspiration-art-ability-flow.html on the website blog section. Those posts where awesome!
Since the website has made its unexpected debut, I was asked to reply to any inquiries and suggestions you all may have. Thank you for the kind feedback and as Ed has mentioned, this web is not finalized yet so please be patient. George Skywalker, thank you very much for your constructive critique. We will be fixing the background picture to fit more properly and will also consider your suggestion of changing backgrounds. The homepage slides you see on the site now are placeholders and are to be changed. We are thinking of using the banner more for news and featured topics. But in the meantime, we will change it to more polished slides because I agree that the quality is no good. Thanks again for the feedback! We are working hard on the site and aiming towards our April deadline. The site has not been the only thing I've been working on, so more goodies to come for all the fans.
Hiya Prim welcome to EP. Very very nice to see you here. btw loved your artwork on those colourful thingies (i forget the proper name for the mob:)). The male and female were both fascinating mobs. Hmm do tell us more :D maybe a tiny little clue
