This might be better timed for Mother's Day. My mother will be 80 in July. Physically the diabetes has taken a terrible toll, but mentally she probably feels about 50. She is working on her Bucket List, as in things you have to do before "kicking the bucket". This includes digitizing all her photos, learning how to use the evil Facebook, and doing a last "meet and greet" thing with her friends by long distance bus across Canada. She visited British friends for a month back in February. One project is cleaning up the basement. Old books, camping gear (wood framed backpacks, canvas tents), my old chemistry set etc. A few days ago she found my old computer, and figured someone might put it to good use. So she gathered up all the old disks and tech manuals, and drove on down to the nearest computer shop to get it in working order again. Luckily the tech guy had some experience with this computer so he promised to do his best. It is a Commodore 64
Yes moms are great indeed and I love mine very much to. A commodore 64, well those are worth a bit these days if you have a working one and can find a guy that is willing o buy it
still a active buzzy beee i see, gotta love seeing that instead of hanging head down sitting around :)
Timing is everything ... my Mother is actually on a plane at this moment heading back North after her month-long annual Spring visit with family in the South. This past week was my week for our Mother/Daughter time and it was awesome as always. She will be 86 the 26th of this month and still going strong. She's been an incredible role model for unconditional love and caring - doesn't matter where you're from or what your circumstances are - she's always helping others and putting a smile on someone's face. She enjoys good health and is still sharp as a tack - doesn't let any grass grow under her feet and has evolved quite nicely over time - she's one not to be underestimated, and has no issue putting you in your place if you need it. :) Not all Mother's are treasures (I know from my professional work), but mine certainly is and I love her dearly.
