Editorial: The story of NEVERDIE. Truth, or fiction?

Dude, your ruler is broken. Why make such a big deal out of what happened 5 freaking years ago? His videos and interviews have brought more people into this universe than anything MA has ever done. He's a brilliant spokesman for EU and could've been a millionaire a long time ago if he wasn't under-payed for all he's done and still is doing.

There's gotta be something else EP can write about, why not be a bit more constructive next time?

Yes he could have pulled a million $ from this very easily if he'd not been such a believe in it all and invested everything he made in other things like Champs League, MMOWC, travel, expenses, helping others, and now creating NDS.

Yes, it seems that ND isn't doing a very good job managing RT or NI. Their forum itself is proof enough. I don't know whose job it is but it's not getting done for sure. It's greatly hurting RT and NI and needs to change immediately but it might be to late at this point.

Articles about that or other things related would be much more useful.

No, ND didn't sell everything he had in game prior to buying CND. AFTER he had CND is the time frame they are referencing to. At that time he was still in Warrents, still had items that I know of. Some Damage makes the best overall point though.. why bring up crap from 5 years ago??? Must be some underlying reason.. hmmmm could it be the mis-management of NI? I do think so.

Casay, you and I have been friends for quite a few years, but with all due respect Hon, your above statement is way off base. This site has not turned into a flame ND site by any means whatsoever. Peter did one article that tied quite a few elements together, and regardless of what the time-line was, it basically establishes a pattern of progressive behavior that has now found it's way into his management style that many feel is hurting both RT and NI alike.

Others who have posted here are only adding additional information to support what the current issues are, and/or offering opinions based on either their own personal experiences, or an assessment of the data presented both here and elsewhere. What has been posted has been presented with supporting content, which is what Peter's article offered, so it's not pure speculation, but instead, clearly based on content "from the horses mouth" so to speak. The time-line and words from ND himself are contradictory with regard to establishing who was the first virtual millionaire, and this argument could go on forever based on opinions, but it's not the basic foundation of the article.

The entire article was not just about the confusion that relates to the first virtual millionaire, but covers quite a few things over time. Subsequent posting by many in our community, especially at PCF, speaks to the current issues and challenges that have plagued both RT and NI. There is very much an open issue that relates to conflict of interest, and from the continued comments and offerings made by the community, it seems as though this has not yet been resolved.

I agree with you ... MA is to blame more than anyone else, but ND knows better. Many feel that he is really pushing the envelope and clearly disregarding the Planet Partner agreement that even he himself said was brought to his attention by MA. I don't think the community would be so vocal about this if it wasn't truly an issue, but it is, and ND is not helping matters much.

Can we please get past the "first virtual millionaire" situation, because that was really just a portion of what was presented, and I think the real focus is how ND's continued behavioral pattern and planet mismanagement (according to many), seems to be having a negative effect on the growth and success of both RT and NI.

I appreciate and respect your opinions and contributions Casay, and agree that there is much more that requires attention and/or investigation beyond just the millionaire status issue. I really think that Peter meant well in trying to give a time-line and tie everything together thus far, which (IMO) clearly gives the community a valid reason to ask questions.

Yep, we can get past the 1st virtual millionaire thing easily. I just don't see a need to have posted all that as that really doesn't play into what is currently going on and I don't think that shows a pattern of anything nor lying. That's my biggest issue is ND being called a liar for it. At that point in time that is the most it seems of what he's posting about, ND simply put.. ROCKED!

If the overall purpose was to show that ND has a big ego.. well.. umm duh! ;) As that's all it really shows.

The other issues that have happened since his becoming a pp and developer are well other issues. I guess I would have rather seen it start there as what happened 5 years ago unless to bring up what happened with the auction when he purchased CND. now that would more tie in to the current situation I think, not some stupid statement in hyped up press releases.


ND knows better as do MANY other players but it still seems to go on and on and on for years. So, do we rail on ND or take it to the source of it being allowed at all? Are people going to be upset with players that have 'invested' in new planets vs being employees of them? Those type of people exist and have for years as investors of MA but not employees. They have nothing to do with the day to day operations but have invested. There are those people I'm sure for all the planet partners. What if they are another high profile player that has happened to invest in a planet and loots something awesome there? Are we going to scream insider information?

I know one pp that is VERY closed mouth about things, even with his closest friends that he knows irl and long time soc mates. I think they are concerned as he should be about any back lash like happened to ND.

To me, it's up to MA to make sure there's nothing going on there. They have the ability to track things and ENFORCE things.

And yes, I still think the timing of the front page article on this site at the same time as RT 2.0 had a lot more to do with smearing ND at that point in time than to providing any real useful planet info. Peter may have had other intentions but unfortunately that's now how it comes across.

Guess overall if needed we can agree to disagree.

Is what you're wanting is for ND to come here and 'prove' that he was or wasn't? Does he have to prove virtual worth as I think he could but I see no reason for it. Does it have to be amount taken from game? I mean.. come on....

He was in Warrents... they do NOT EVER discuss things, items, skills etc with the general public.. period.. end of story. Again, so since he didn't answer your questions and prove it doesn't make it so?????

His throwing it around.. well.... it's great PR since it IS probably true! (virtual worth same as Anshe claimed) I see a real reason for that! And repeating it over and over and over and over!!! I don't see him as throwing it around still as leaving room for any questions. Other things.. sure... most of what you wrote and quoted and linked was about the millionaire thing and ongoing statements about it. Not about the more recent things. I love his promoting and hype and enthusiasm. It's good for all of us even though there's been disappointment with RT and NI... I blame that more on the ppl around him. He's doing his part to promote, his team doesn't seem to have the talent or knowledge or whatever it is to live up to it. :( That's the sad part really. If they did.. omg.. could you imagine?

Is there a pattern of seemingly insider information, good ol boy network, etc etc etc??? Yep... but it's not just ND... he's just the most able to be seen. That article would have gotten a + rep from me for sure :)

I guess we dis-agree if he was or wasn't . I look at him then, what he had, was spending, doing, financing in and out of game, other LA's, and don't at all doubt his virtual worth then. That's my opinion though. He didn't prove it to you so you don't agree. Fine... but you should then prove he wasn't.. not just use posted monthly income from ONE thing in game as proof! Guess my back is up the most about this because to me, it's timing is like kicking someone when they are already down :/

Everyone seems to have had their say in this particular saga, just like that one. The verbal merry-go-round has gone full circle at least a dozen times, showcasing the viewpoints of its riders for all to see.

Now the riders are all sick. All of them want to puke. The only thing holding each person back from being the first to pop is pride. Nobody wants to be the first kid to lose his lunch.

The ride is no longer fun.

 

Well NEVERDIE just lied again in his release notes where he wrote that UL weapons will drop on RT 2.0. Well they didn't and I think that also really shows that he will do whatever is necessary to bring players to his planet. To lock them up there he then implemented the prison... it's kinda obvious really and hurts all customers of MA who got trapped there. So I hope that MA will take the right actions against his behaviour.

After ND's facebook and twitter account showed some activity Friday, I decided to send in a support ticket asking for clarification about all of this and MA's own take on it as well as their take on the ND interns on linkedin from a couple of years ago, etc.

I'd assume that someone that once worked for NDS but no longer does is not under the employees part of the contract, but on the other hand, maybe they have some sort of clause in there that extends it out since those that worked in the PP itself, even as an intern, might just have some insider info or stay in contact with those that do... Then there's the issue of who exactly the avatars are that are working for PPs and if they are being reported to MA, etc. In theory MA should keep a list, but I highly doubt they are?.. hard to say since MA has been hush hush on all of it.

So far the admission to any wrongdoing as a PP was from ND himself, not MA... so this entire employee's of PP is breaking the contract thing might actually just be more ND PR hype?!?! -- but I hope like heck it's not because 'all avatars are equal' or should be.

I have allways had hope that the story ND told was true.
It is a good one.

After I read he stayed home while his wife worked and he played video games.
Could not afford to pay the rent. Recieved a loan on his house.
I only read the headlines after this point. I could not respect this way of a mans treatment of his wife and home.
It is not a risk I feel he should have made.

Again Im all for the story he tells. It could even be true. I have allways read it as propaganda myself.
I dont know the entire story. Its fun to have history in a game that is pretend real.
I look at all the history. Timelines. When did he start in the game. When did the second life lawsuit start.
What state did it come from and what state did ND start in.
For me the truth is unknown. He may even own the whole game for all I know.
So I have to go and what story he gives me and make it fun.

Am I a ND fan? No, not so much. For me he is just a Uber player who hunts on a lvl I cannot.
He sold me the idea of the Astroid years ago. Ive spent more time there then on Calypso.
After he sold me the shop and idea of life on the astroid. He takes his Dance Club and moves away.
Not a player I would follow for investments anymore.
Still fun to have in the game.

The point of DA industries is of most interest to me currently, I have worked with them a bit in the past month, and have just launched a bigger event in collaboration with them. I am not to the type of person to take profit over the right thing, so trust me when I say I truly think DA does not have ill intentions. Their ties in the music end are blatantly obvious to the public, you see the "Juelz Santana" outpost, and the "Nuclear Blast Bomb Shelter" are clearly musician related which is the whole theme of RT.

When I used to run my own venue, I sought out the people that knew the bands in different genres of music, the official or non official promoters of their own subcultures. These people brought me line ups of bands to host at my location, a very standard and straight forward business proposition though they were not my employees. I kind of see the RT & DA scenario in a similar light as this example, their simply a promoter or recruiter of bands from what it seems, I assume they would contract bands in the same way a traditional promoter would and they are bringing them to ND's venue.. Rocktropia.

The speculation of "insider trading" with the whole scanner incident, I can only trust MA would do the right thing if this truly were a hustle. I have friends and people I truly trust on both sides of this debate, and am still not completely set in my mind of where my final thought is here, however I HOPE that whatever transgressions may have occurred on anyone's part here will be attended to appropriately.

In the mean time I'll keep listening to both sides, quietly observing as I most often do until I truly feel I know whats going on, and have not just coat tailed anthers opinion.

 

Excellent post Hon, and speaking for myself ... I have no issue whatsoever with anyone owning land areas and/or promoting bands or music for ROCKtropia whatsoever. I think the key issue is what happened with the scanners, and while it's hopeful that MA will always do the right thing, their response to this situation really said nothing, which I believe was rather disappointing to the community.

I applaud your neutral position, and appreciate your perspective on all of this while at the same time providing a service to the individual or entity in question. However, I can also appreciate the other side of the coin as well, because nothing was ever made clear as to what happened, and we also never got the press release that DAMgr said he was going to do that would explain everything.

You're a good friend, and I respect what you do for this universe as a player and contributor. I look forward to working with you in the future, and hope that eventually all of this can be put to rest and we'll be satisfied with what should be fair game play.
