We started BSFZ Radio due to the fact that that we wanted control of our shows.

When Talk Thyme was on Entropia Radio I had rules that told me what I could say and not say. I was not allowed to mention people by name nor even mention other forums. I have gotten messages from 711 because certain individuals didnt like the fact I played a Carly Simon song so I was given the message that song was offensive to someones ego. While hosted on Entropia Radio I was not allowed an Opinion.

We broke from Entropia Radio and Andy set up the new station with the help of a few individuals that provided us with server space. Now on my show I can call out anyone I see fit. After the move I posted a link to my show since I was doing a contest or something like that. It was after I posted about Talk Thyme that I got that message.

Funny thing is that even though we are not hosted by him, 711 has sent a message saying that I better be kept on a leash. My management informed me of that and we had a nice laugh about it.

 

sounds like someone ego has been ruffled by a credible alternative. its not healthy for the player community to have all information and resources held and controled by one person. on a whim, several resources could all shut overnight, i dont believe that is likly but it is a concern. No one who genuinly cares about the wider benefit of EU should care if others operate, and other forums happily allow links to EF, so why not the reverse?

nevermind, nothing can be done really. best thing to do is accept this is the postion and move on to improve EP and its wiki.

rofl this is a classic, so in neos world his idea of dealing with competion is to either erase all mention of it or attempt to controll it.

and tbh if he wants it this way you should delete his ef link on the front page

 

yes, but this is exactly how we're different. We do not wish to delete any links there - we wish to inform people about the info available.

 

Let me again make it clear, that it is not the fact that he complained about me recruiting over there - even it being in private pm's. I understand his concerns about this - but didn't want to make an open thread about EP in the respect of him and his forum, and therefor I chose the backdoor-way.

The issue is, that people from here cannot link to this site when there are some good and valued interviews going on with planetpartners - which might be interesting for the whole EU community to read about. Especially when I see news and articles from other sites mentioned there! I really believe it is a shame.

As i see it, 711 was just mad about blatant recruiting threads/posts/sigs - if you just link some information/interviews/other useful stuff here you don't "recruit", do you?

I think people should just refrain from direct (and maybe even indirect) invitations to EP, but not stop to post links to i.e. the interviews and other interesting stuff... because there is nothing wrong in doing so and as long as "entropiaplanets" is not listed in 711s little EF stasi wordfilter there it should be ok to post links to EP.

 

I guess because there is no point in being childish about it...

It is not like you encouraged people to advertise EP explicitely over on EF...

And ofc, you cannot control what EP members do, if 711 got a problem with particular posts, why doesn't he contact the author instead?

Yes,.. i know what we are talking about here, he even felt the need to PM me and tell me to "not advertise ER" when i used the term "othER forum" 2 or 3 times...

Still, people post what people post - telling you to make people stop is absolutely laughable! But it somehow reflects his vision of EF and what he thinks he can dictate "his" members... just one more nail for the coffin.

He should change his Rules then that it says any links to entropiarelated forums that are not EF are not allowed. Untill then I dont care..

He should be open about it and not try do this backdoor style so that noone on EF will notice..

BUT I wish to give you this warning, because you should know. I know the threads with the links on EF was only made with good intentions and nothing else (well - the interviews where really good :) ) - but you should be aware, that doing it again might have consequenses. And that is something I would feel bad about.

Again, 711 was in his fully right to send me the pm's asking me not to abuse the pm system - which I did and that's not a secret! It's weeks ago though. I made banners for my signatures, which was fitting with the interviews we had here to promote the planet partners interviews! But seriously, that one I cannot see as being a harm ... Also, I cannot see any harm in any from here linking to something exciting on this forum.

But in that EF-rules disagrees. I'm not the one to questioning the rules on EF - but I want you to be aware of this - because I would hate to see anyone in trouble because of EP!

I have posted >2K posts on EF, not a friggin single one had to be deleted/moderated, never even had a temp ban, so one can say i have no problems with rules - if he bans me now over a sig banner with no offensive content he doesn't deserve my contributions to his forum.
