I hope we will get a reply from 711 on the questions specified - and then we can move along! It would be nice to know what our future approach on EF is and wether we are allowed to promote our interviews/articles there or not.

I referred to your more recent comments in lots of threads addressing i.e. 711 on ER, but not only there.

I guess you don't understand either why i.e. there are certain authorities to control i.e. monopolies in world economy.

Diversity and competition, "having a choice" is a good thing, and from what i've seen, nobody was really surprised that 711 is not happy about EP - don't tell me that it came as a complete surprise to you.

Anyway, i'm curious about the "official" ongoings, hence we should give it a rest until 711 replies.

The reason for this comment of mine was in reference to you implying that I seem to bury my head in the sand. If you bother to read through all my posts over the years (and the seem to be a few on EF) you will see that this is not the case, just being less cantankerous these days :)

Quite a few of the PMs were reported, which alerted me to a potential problem.

A simple database query to search for the number PMs sent by a user in a given timeframe revealed just how many PMs were sent. Note that this DB query does not reveal the contents of any message, simply a count.

vBulletin, the forum software used by both EF and this forum, does not include any tool or admin function to read another member's private messages. The only way to do so would be to manually extract the data from the forum database, which is something I have never done and would not consider doing. EF moderators do not have access to the forum database, only the server admin (me) has such access.

This question has come up many times before, and I always advise everyone to think twice before conducting extremely private or sensitive discussions via private message on any forum (not just EF), since such information is always stored in a database somewhere, and is (usually) not encrypted. As I explained above, I have never invaded the privacy of any EF members by extracting their private message content from the forum database, and would never consider doing so. But at the end of the day, it always comes down to a trust issue, so anyone who participates in any forum or public website should be cautious with sensitive discussions or information.

Indeed I do have extensive first-hand experience with building, administrating and operating both new AND established forums. With regard to EF, I did much more than just "add a few features," and in fact I have now owned and administrated EF for a longer period of time than Mindbuster did, but that is hardly relevant to this thread so I am not sure why you are fueling the off-topic discussions.

As I explained to Peter in PM, I am still considering the best way to proceed from this point. I think we should (the 3 of us) perhaps discuss things via PM (or maybe even better a chat session) to iron things out, and then make a post in this thread with the solution that is agreed upon.

The forum word filter is a global setting, and affects all content submitted to the forum. You would know this if you had any experience with vBulletin. If you believe this is not the case, I invite you to refer to the vBulletin administration guide.

You might want to look again at who created this thread, and who expanded the scope of my request to Lykke way beyond my intention and thereby gave members here the idea that they might be banned on EF for linking to EntropiaPlanets.

Wizzszz has been a singular disruptive force in this thread, yet you have not once asked him to "refrain from commenting" or addressed his off-topic diversions, aggressive comments, insults, or ridiculous conspiracy theories. Contrast those to Skam's posts, which have clearly had the intention of trying to improve this situation.

Earlier in this thread, you posted a list of several questions to which you demanded a "Yes or No" answer, and I replied to each of those. So how can you now claim that I am providing fuzzy criteria?

I answered all but one of your questions with a one-word yes or no answer for goodness sake. If there was any fuzziness, it was due to the wording of your question, not my reply.

Then again, Lykke, VF and you continue to insist that you are not part of the EntropiaPlanets forum staff (despite a 'Tech Crew' tag which seems to indicate otherwise), so why exactly am I obliged to address you at all regarding this matter? As you yourself have said, this is an issue between me and VF/Lykke.

There wasn't anything constructive in the attacks and the attempts to label my posts as "tinfoil hat stuff" from Skam - actually, the Yes/No questions i asked were the only step taken to resolve that matter, whereas your moderators had nothing better to do than just question everything, even post stuff that clearly disagreed with what you posted.

The Tech Crew tags solely indicates that i act as a tech consultant for EP, this is only of advisory nature and i am not involved in EP beyond that, altho i fail to see why that should make any difference:

All i wrote in my posts is my own opinion, even w/o regards on how Lykke and Peter feel about me asking such unconvenient questions.

As for the word filter... you ARE aware that noone forces you to use it, yes? So don't try to justify your actions by "uh-oh, i WOULD not invade your PMs privacy if i could, but vB doesn't let me" - even if you can't switch it off for PMs, you can surely alter the php files if you feel the need to do so, lots of things on EF are a "hack", adapted for your needs, but ofc, protecting members privacy is not top notch priority for you...

My "Yes or No" was a start, not even close to the list of clarifications needed - but i didn't get there before your minions drowned me in petty attacks, i still fail to understand why you came here with 2 EF mods to back you up... i guess you expected some serious resistance already? Because you knew what you'd post wouldn't be acceptable?

How could Lykke and Peter NOT create this thread when you explicitely asked ALL EP members to refrain from recruitment on EF? Your PM has been quoted here and imo, it clearly asks them to forward its contents to the EP members.

Fact is when 711 posted, all I saw from your argument from him was an accusation about some supposed image denial software he's using just to keep you from uploading specific EP pics.

Mod or not, I thought that was just silly. Like you said yourself, you're not new to the 'net. Do you REALLY believe 711 has bought some software that scans image uploads on vBulletin sites and denies specific images? Really?

Personally, I'm guessing 711's big PM to them was simply a quick list of EP-related stuff, and he didn't consider exactly how each word may be viewed. So now we have a "crack legal team" focusing so hard on each bullet point, they're pressing him into a corner that doesn't need to exist.

711 and I have our occasional disagreements, (not that it's any of your business) even while I'm a mod, but in this, I agree with him, in spirit (regardless of me being a mod or not). EP should be allowed to have links to its good info, but blatant recruitment is over the line. Now those exact lines are will be handled by 711 & Lykke/VF, not us. And yes, if 711 decides he has to ban all links to EP, I'll disagree with him. However Lykke's/VF's desire to fast-track the building of this forum caused them to do some unprofessional things. This caused a reaction, which caused another which caused this silly shit storm. Truth? Neither 711 nor Lykke/VF are innocent. They all made some mistakes, and are now trying to figure out what to do. And you are not helping that process, Wiz.

I'm hoping all this will clear soon and we can go back to reading interviews, info, etc.

The main thing that worries me are the folks who will try to bend any agreement EP/EF make in an attempt to see just how close they can come to making ads for EP without getting modded. And that will NOT help EP or EF at all.

Most of the folks commenting I don't care about. Shinobi & Tom are just using this thread as an excuse to take potshots at 711. That's just childish.

However, you, Wizz chose to view my posts not as the person you've read for over a year, but as "a mod (aka the enemy)".
