Here’s another screenshot of the new Elysian Colorator, I made this picture to be part of the upcoming text-based Coloring tutorial, but it includes a little hint of what’s in store for players in next week’s release. (Sharp-eyed reader might spot a tiny difference between this Colorator and screen I posted the other day, because today’s image has the Bleaching Attachment included.) Continue reading...
As s Next Islander and an EU noob, I'll take all the forums I can get :) If there's some friction between them, well that's how you make a pearl.
Aah, don't take me too serious. Though, the way I see it, there is indeed some ugly friction. But that's also one-way friction and the direction it is coming from is not EP... However, I would say EP is appreciating the work of any truly community oriented site and is happily willing to cooperate with them. Just some examples: * there is no friction with Entropia Tracker, in fact EP wiki has event pages fetching scoreboards from Entropia Tracker and recommending to use Entropia Tracker, also back half a year on the old outdated forum software (that other EU forums still use ;) ) EP had a custom module fetching latest HOFs from Entropia Tracker to display it in the sidebar * there is no friction with nextislandlife.com, in fact Next Island granted permission to integrate their great guides on the EP wiki, and EP helped NIL to integrate the EP created Latest HOFs module, it's still in the sidebar of the forums page * there is no friction with ND.com, in fact EP helped ND.com too to integrate the EP created Entropia Tracker module, and it's still in the sidebar of the forums page * there is no friction with Entropia Bay, in fact some wiki pages (more and more will follow) are showing markup graphs by Entropia Bay and suggest to go there for getting more info, also on the old outdated forum software (that other EU forums still use ;) ) EP had a custom price ticker module fetching MU figures from Entropia Bay and that module was also available for other sites to use * there is no friction with arkadiaforum.com, in fact AF has a section for EP frontpage articles and EP is happily sharing any Arkadia frontpage article with them * there is no friction with Entropedia, in fact EP had a frontpage article in form of a little interview with Entropedia owner Witte * there's also no friction with Cyrene, Beladcom, Theryon Wars, etc., or anyone else EP is happily helping to promote their visions for example by featuring them in EntropiaTimes magazine. * there is no friction with cashplanets.com, in fact Narfi had already several EP frontpage articles on CP * there is no friction with other 'media outlets', in fact they can have their own forum section on EP to promote their work And there is no friction with many many others and in fact we are working on methods to let others participate in and profit from what's available on EP. Anyone reading this who can think of any kind of cooperation, just call. However, the way I see it, there is friction... ugly friction... one-way friction...
. Well ... as a long-time friend with plenty of "Softy" experience under my belt, I consider myself qualified to support your crazy-ass claims, and if you want to put your "friction" business out in the street, I figured I would add a bit of credibility to that effort to back it up. You're welcome! :D And ... excellent post Tass - very well written with content that clearly speaks to the quality of the operation of this all-universe forum and its owners who support the efforts of Planet Partners to promote their planets. I can't speak more highly of Lykke, Peter and their EP staff in how they consistently go above and beyond in evolving this environment to enhance the experience of the EU community. I would also have to agree that there is no "friction" ... besides, Softy already confessed to having the "friction" so I would keep my eye on her for sure. :p
OK so if they both run in opposite directions, I'll be ready with a camera for a unique facial expression!
. OMG ... that's awesome Tass! However ... two things ... (1) that may be a brand of "pet" in Softy's stable that she may not want to roast, although she's more apt to show you those long-neck red and gray-colored beasts she likes to surprise everyone with ... (2) this thread has truly gone WAY off-topic, but Softy is also quite capable of sucking us into that too. She's a woman of many talents, and I don't think they've all been revealed yet, BUT ... Maybe the colorator and texturizers can somehow be adapted to use on pets? :p THEN we would probably WANT to visit her stable, because it would most likely look like a Ringling Brothers Circus instead of a corral. :clown:
OMG!!! That is how the friction got started! Someone told me it was a hamburger but it was actually a Hoglo burger! LOL I like to think I bring dead/ and or boring topics back to life :) OMG a colorable/texturable pet? That be cool! It would be like SPORE all over again. And some of you have seen what I did in there. LOL (for adult eyes only!) >
Let's keep it going. This is now still life with colorator, the friction, Hogglo steak and Penisaurus.
Perhaps we need to define just what type of friction we're talking about here first. However, knowing Softy, I'm sure she has employed them all. Class is now in session ... :) Friction is the force resisting the relative motion of solid surfaces, fluid layers, and/or material elements sliding against each other. There are several types of friction: Dry friction resists relative lateral motion of two solid surfaces in contact. Dry friction is subdivided into static friction between non-moving surfaces, and kinetic friction between moving surfaces. (this is demonstrated quite efficiently during Softy's demolition derby activities) Fluid friction describes the friction between layers within a viscous fluid that are moving relative to each other. (I've known her to swim with the sharks - leviathan are just too schizoid for her) Lubricated friction is a case of fluid friction where a fluid separates two solid surfaces. (draw your own conclusions based on where you just went with your visual) Skin friction is a component of drag, the force resisting the motion of a solid body through a fluid. (some of Softy's pets aren't as cooperative, and she has to use drastic measures to get them to the stable) Internal friction is the force resisting motion between the elements making up a solid material while it undergoes deformation. (she just doesn't know at times whether she's coming or going) I'm not sure how all of this could be applied to coloring or texturizing, but if the Next Island colorator is as hot as it's claimed to be, then there might be some hope. Softy likes testing new things, but ... ... to be continued ...
