I started out with one handed weapons and dual wielded the Skyforge War Axe for a while, and still do. But I use dual wield fire storm magic a lot these days. The good thing about it is that it staggers the opponent enough to shoot another time. This way you can kill then and keep them at a distance. Down side is your Magica runs out pretty fast just a few shots (think I'm at 6 now).

It does not work for all enemies, but I have a dual wield Lightning storm as well and can always use my 2 Skyforge axes I enchanted with 12 fire damage and I have an Dwarven Axe with 12 Freezing damage. which I ca dual wield as well. No need for a shield so far ;)

Starting to figure out what items I wanna enchant as well, got some nice boots that give me 30 points more I can carry and some other stuff I might wanna use.

I'm thinking of dual wielding, not sure if I will though. I have the Daedric mace, can't remember which one...will have to look...may bal-roth or something. Then a regular daedric mace...kills things pretty quickly lol. But I'm just using two-handed weapons until it's at 100, trying to get to level 50...might just throw on some light armor next and stand out near some wolves and let them chew on me for a while lol

  3. Getting high sneak and archery is just amazing. Prowling around and BAM, critical shot. Best feeling ever.

I'm going to make my next character a sneak/archer based one instead of a meat tank

Is this a stand-alone game, as in, NOT an MMO, no internet connection, single player?

    How is it?

Can you have more than one character to develop, or is it restricted to one?

  6. Yes it's NOT an MMO. It is an offline Single Player RPG.

That also means you tend to get more in-depth storylines and roleplay. More decisions YOU make in the games and actually let's you make a change in the world. While I don't prefer single-player games over MMOs, I have to say this got me hooked for quite a bit. It's THE most beautiful world you ever seen. The artists put so much effort in every square foot of this world. And it's probably the most in-depth game I've ever played as far as the storyline, roleplay, and user interaction goes.

You should watch a few youtube videos about it.

What Knight said, BUT I did need a Steam account for it to play, so you will need an internet connection !
And if you don't wanna spend $50 you can also try Oblivion (the previous edition). It is about 10 years old now, but still looks amazing and is probably about $10 and the idea behind it is about the same. Big open world with a vary large amount of missions and quests you can do. It will give you 100's of hours of playing time for a small amount of money.

Oblivion came out in 2006. It's good but Skyrim is way more in depth...honestly this is the first game I've played where I have fun just walking around not doing anything at all.

  9. You can run steam offline as well. I used to play certain single player games on steam in offline mode back when I was using my laptop.
And yes, you can get Oblivion as a demo. Pretty cheap. But Skyrim KiriHime said, is way more dynamic, in-depth, and realistic. You can just walk in a town and hear arguments going among the villagers. Each voiced and unique. It's really well done.

Yes Skyrim is way better, but I can imagine that paying $50 for a game might scare some people and if so Oblivion is a pretty good alternative.

One thing I am looking forward to is user created content for Skyrim, but we have to wait untill the mod software becomes availible from Bethesda. There were a few great mods for Oblivion and those will keep you playing for a while after you finished it the first time. Also the downloadable content from Oblivion was pretty cool, but not sure if they plan to do that for Skyrim as well. Anyway I have around 60 hours of playing time logged and for €50,00 thats way better then I ever did in EU ;)

  11. Heh...

That is pretty funny to be saying on a forum about Entropia.

Anyways, I may pick up Skyrim for myself sometime over the next few weeks... thanks all!

I realize that Chrome and I did pay a lot for EU, but some how I did not buy any game next to EU just because I thought $50 was to much because I usually get tired of a game after a few hours. Pretty happy I did pay that for Skyrim though.

Why would one want to buy 5 other just released AAA games (unlimited, 0 decay) when you can buy a Quad-Wing in EU for the same cost? :headscratch:

Now that you just bought Morrowind and Oblivion, you have Skyrim already and Arena & Daggerfall are free-to-play, will you play to whole series from the early beginnings to the latest finale grande?

I would really love to that but...
