There are not many games out there that can beat EVE in ruthlessness and political game-play, which makes this game stand out above all others. I first tried EVE in August of 2010 and I found myself completely taken, to say the least, by the dark corners of the universe, the story-line and the incredible background music. It was indeed perfection. It did not take long before I payed the price of confronting authority. It is in me - and will always be - to test the authoritative figure to see if he or she is deserving of my respect. I became a member of a corporation which was a member of a big alliance. The leader of my corporation demanded something which I cannot recall at this time; however, I did not like it, so I told him no - he did not like that, so suddenly I am offered, by a member of another corporation in this alliance, a cargo in space with 5000 ISK worth of stones. I had a lot more ISK at this time because I had sold a game-time card (you can buy a game-time card, or whatever it is called, for real money and sell it in the game) so I told him "no thanks," but he insisted that it would be impolite by me to say no to this gift, and I agreed - it would have been impolite. Just like when you're at the bar and you have a bad feeling; knowing that soon hell will break lose and all you can think about is where the fuck your friends are; just that feeling did I have when he told me to open the cargo in space. What you have to understand, ladies and gentlemen, is that in EVE there are different kinds of space. I was in a high-security space which meant if anyone attacked me "the police" would attack the attacker - but if I opened someone else's cargo in space ... well, you get the drift, right? I knew something was wrong, or I felt it, but I opened it not knowing what was wrong; after all, it was just a feeling. I didn't get to think more about this until my space-ship was totally annihilated and my pod was shot to pieces by this fella who'd offered me this gift. I said, "thank you very much," as my heart was raising to a pulse way beyond panic attacks and highness on synthetic amphetamines. It was a wonderful experiences early into my life in EVE which taught me the ruthless brutality of the game - and to always be at my guard. I no longer play EVE, but it is a wonderful game. I wish it was an RCE because ... well, EVE is a community beyond what Entropia Universe will ever be, and at least there they don't fret about bringing up controversial subjects. I recommend EVE to anyone interested in political outplays, warfare and sandbox-game. What you want to become is entirely up to you; a soldier, a leader, a miner, a crafter - or maybe you want to search for wormholes. Whatever you want to become the possibilities for your existence in EVE are endless. After all, like they say, the universe is yours. Divide D. Impera
lol. Yeah EVE is a pretty epic game. I had to stop playing until I finish school and get a job. One similar experience I had was when I just got my first, brand spankin new hulk. I took it out in high sec near my main "hangout station" and started jet mining. Then this frigate from a corporation that tends to pick on miners all the time warped in. He warped out and warped in a minute later with a hauler. And then hauled in all my ores. He was marked for stealing so I attacked him, just enough to annoy his hauler out of the area. But I forgot all about his ability to retaliate for up to 15 mins. So I sighed in relief as he ran away, but then he came back with a Hurricane and warp disrupted me and tried to get a trade's worth of stuff. I didn't have much excpet a few battlecruisers and a battleship. So he wanted all of them or else he would blow me up. I didn't trust him so I logged off, which was incredibly stupid, but I felt like I didn't have a chance anyways. So yeah, he blew up my first hulk on the few hours of me flying it. :P This game will get you raging to the 10th degree. But I agree. An epic game. Unlimited possibilities and free expansions coming out twice a year. Best sci-fi game to date. I think when they come out with "walking in stations", while not vital to gameplay, will skyrocket the already great sci-fi immersion.
Not to mention that Dust 114 (or what it's called; a console-game) will be integrated with EVE so that there's FPS-play on the planet belonging to space-corporations. I hope they don't make it too easy, though, like many game-developers do after a few years in the attempt of tracking down new customers.
Yup. Cant wait for that. After the pretty awesome and in-depth Planetary Interaction, I can't wait to see how they will integrate DUST 514 to it.
EVE-space and entropian-like planets would be a dream come true! But FPS can be fun, too. Just a bit angry that they only develop it for consoles, as for as I've heard. PC would be better. I still remember playing Counter Strike 1.6 in my youth. Those good old times.
