  7. Hey all,

I'm sorry if this has been posted before but I cannot find another thread relating to this problem.

When trying to update to the latest version (11.0.7.48670-11.0.8.49004) the installer fails to execute, telling me I do not have enough disk space. A quick check of my hard drive reveals I have over 700GB free.

I have tried to download and patch manually using the links in this thread, however the patcher cannot find my installation of Entropia Universe.

Placing the patch in the installation directory (C:/Program Files/Entropia Universe) along with the other patches and running, brings up an error message telling me I do not have sufficient administrative rights to install the program, even though I am logged in on the admin account and have no others.

I am running Windows XP SP 2.

Any help you can give me would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you for reading,

    BloodBowler.

  8. The patch must be run from inside of the EU installation directory, otherwise it can't find it.

What exactly do you mean by "along with other patches"?

From which version do you try to update?
(see version.txt in your EU folder)

And, are you 100% sure you are on a "full rights" account?

The "not enough HD space" has been reported before, but it maybe a false alarm, because you ran it from a different folder at that time.

However, you should place just the ACTUAL update in the folder and run only that - then remove it when you're done, having more than one patch in the EU folder at once can cause additional trouble.

And make sure you update in the correct order.
(again, see version.txt in your EU folder)

  9. Understood on the installation directory, thanks for clearing that up.

By along with other patches I mean that there were other patch versions in the directory, I have erased them all now, except of course the most recent.

    Version.txt is as follows:
    [VersionInfo]
    CurrentVersion=11.0.7.48670

Double checked the User Accounts in Control Panel. I am running a full rights account.

Problem persists. Thank you however for your swift and concise reply.

  10. Did you try to reboot before installing again?
Windows is... well, let's say it is a bit unprecise when it comes to error messages, especially when dealing with external drives (but not only):

If often tells you that you don't have sufficient rights or similar when a file can't be accessed (for whatever reason, probably because it is opened by another application, especially .dlls are affected by this, but it can happen with any file) - reboot and then try running the patch again - just DONT try to start EU or any other application.

Stopping your anti-virus software may be a good idea, too - the patcher will very likely attempt to update the EU main .exe and some AV kits will block write access to executeables... (which usually results in any kind of error, which exactly depends on your AV software, but "no rights" is a common reply - it may as well be the patcher interpreting the access problem falsely as "insufficient rights")

  11. Weirdly enough the AV software was to blame. Even though it asked me to confirm it (which I did), it stopped it patching anyway. Either way problem solved, many thanks Wizzszz!

  13. Thanks for reporting the new full installation link, added to post #6.

It should work just fine, unless you had a broken installation before.

    :)

Confirmed, link works fine. Now i get a CRC error when patching. No biggie, i'll manually D/L the next patch.

  15. Yeah, you guessed it: Todays patch (update_11.0.8.49004-11.0.9.49875.exe) added to post #6, including download mirror here on EP.

You might have noticed the site went down for a bit. Seems the VPS ran out of space. I've been forced to remove the updated predating 10.4 (three files from 10.3).

Some more might follow later, but I figured I'd give you a headsup. I'll go and remove them from the post wizzszz uses to keep track as well.

  20. Todays VU added to post #6, it is ~ 200 MB only.

Don't ask me where those damn guides hide, no free car for me so far, and i doubt i will allow them to piss me off again by logging in again later... well, i'm running off the topic... good news is: when you're at work and couldn't log in so far you're probably better off :P

However, the EP mirror is unavailable for now, until we have a definite answer to why some of our GBs went missing...

If you can't get the official download link working for you, please drop me a PM and i will see if i can put it up for you somewhere else (for a limited number of downloads only)
