    Capsa aculea

    With the lack of a sub forum about this I post it here.

    As we all know there are a lot of different plants and trees all around Calypso and as fas as I know they all don't have a name. So maybe it is a good idea to start naming these plants and put them in the wiki as soon as we have a suitable name for them. An English name would be nice, but when we can come up with a Latin name that would be great and maybe a little description.

    I wanna start off with this one:

  2. Vomitor Maximus? :evil:

    Those are the ones with the spikey capsules, right?
    Never saw one that is open tho, nice :)

    mmm, nice

    but I thought something like Lingua Maximus

    lingua is Latin tor Tongue

    in English that would be something like "Tongue Plant"

  4. Maximus = "the biggest/greatest"

    Plant= Planta...

    I'd say "Planta Lingua" pretty much sums it up.

    But then again, if that is just the open variant of the capsule plant, i'd say the tongue thing might be misleading, it's no tongue anyway, but just pouring seeds.

    My suggestion:

    Capsa aculea

    capsa = capsule
    aculea = spikey

    (And btw: i soo hate you for making me dig up my school latin... ;) )

  5. Nice Idea, +rep. Have you asked admin to start a sub-forum Virtual-"Fauna" & Virtual-"Flaura"? The worst hey could do is say no.

    OK, but I don't think they put the plant (planta) thing in front of the latin name for plants, I never seen it.

    So, I think Lingua Maximus is the best for now
    with Big Tongue Plant as the English translation

    OK this is a nice one to. I'm thinking of Blood Grass
    which is Cruor Gramenin in Latin (or something like that)

    :) this is very nice! Though I'm nearly sure MA has names for it - I can't see why not we can give the plants names too !!!

    I will (sometime later today) make a new section in the wiki called flora, where you are welcome to put in the plants :)

    The first one could be "ManEater" ...because you don't see any boorums around that plant do you? very good reason for that ;)

    The second one "Red Weed" because it's red and looks like seaweed.
