MindArk would like to congratulate Entropia Universe participant Modified Akoz Power, for placing the winning bid of 1 500 000 PED for the new moon, and on becoming the new moon’s operator. The MindArk development team is thrilled to work with a long time Entropia Universe participant in the development of the new moon. MindArk has already contacted Akoz, in order to get started on design and development plans for the moon. The moon estate is expected to be released late in Q2 or Q3 of 2013. You can read more about the Moon and the sale here: http://www.entropiauniverse.com/bulletin/buzz/2013/03/01/Newly-Discovered-Moon-to-be-Auctioned.xml; http://www.entropiauniverse.com/entropia-universe/announcements/moon/ http://www.entropiauniverse.com/bulletin/buzz/2013/03/05/Moon-Estate-FAQ.xml MindArk is looking forward to a long and productive relationship with the moon’s operator. - MindArk Source ---- Further information The whole story: Moon sold for USD 150,000 in Entropia Universe Wiki: Entropia Universe Moon
I will post the same question here as I did at PCF regarding this public statement that Bertha Bot picked up ... Why is MindArk publishing their statement and congratulations at the "Official Planet Calypso" website instead of at their "Entropia Universe" website where it makes more sense? In the FAQ which are published at the Entropia Universe site where all MindArk-related activities and announcements are posted in The Latest Buzz ... a specific question was asked about whether the Moon Estate was connected with Calypso ... Q: Is the moon part of Calypso or any other Planet Partner?A: No, the moon is its own territory, just as other planets. That made it very clear that the Moon Estate was its own entity, and ... as we all know, these big sale events over the years are definitely MindArk-initiated, yes? Am I missing something here, because this makes no sense to me.
Didn't notice it, but indeed. Seems as if MA *still* hasn't completely figured out which entity is which.
It's also posted on that website: http://www.entropiauniverse.com/bulletin/buzz/2013/04/05/moon-auction-ended.xml There was another newsfeed about it on this forum. It appeared after this one I think. Sadly it seems to have been deleted and this one kept ;-) I know because I posted on it yesterday but don't see it anymore in my posting history.
Well Ace ... that was not there when I checked after seeing it at the official Planet Calypso website, and for quite a while after, so they had to do it later, but you would think that it would have been the first place they would have posted it being this sale event was MindArk-related and not Calypso-related. Also, why would MA publish that statement just at the official Calypso website and not the other official planet websites to cover all bases if in fact this big sale was not associated with any planet whatsoever, but rather its own entity? Really not trying to make a big deal out of it, but it just caught my attention, because it didn't make sense to me to publish their statement at the Calypso website, that's all. Not sure what you mean "another news feed" because I never saw anything else, other than what Peter was posting here that the gaming sites picked up after the EP team published their article. At any rate, MA has it at their site now, and it's all good.
@MS9 ok number of issues here: 1) yes, they should have posted on official EU website first 2) by another news feed I meant this one at top states "Planet Calypso News: Moon auction ended - Congratulations, Akoz!". The other news feed was similar to this one but I think read something like, "Entropia Universe News: Moon auction ended - Congratulations, Akoz!". The contents of which were same or similar. Perhaps it was created automatically like this one but picked up from official EU website when it finally appeared on there. 3) by deleting the other thread and keeping this one it gives readers a false impression, especially if they may not have seen that thread only this one. As then readers may think it was never posted on the official website. 4) Perhaps it would have been better to merge the two threads to give an accurate account of what transpired rather than deleting other thread completely. 5) Writing is so cumbersome explaining things takes forever ;-) As to your original question why post on planet calypso website first. Could be a number of explanations but certainly room for improvement there. Looks to me like a mistake in the order in which they did things e.g. sent news to PP's first then posted on their own official website after. Perhaps more than one person involved at MA in this i.e. person who wrote the news release and person who posted on MA official website could be two different people. The person who wrote may have sent to all the parties at the same time. The one posting on MA website may have been slower in posting than other people. If that is the case. Interesting how such a small thing like sending an email to everyone at same time can cause big problems.
Found the other thread it's not deleted but for some reason my post on it did not show in my posting history. anyway here is other thread: http://www.entropiaplanets.com/threads/moon-auction-ended.9008/ edit: checked my posting history that thread now appears there also. So I assume it was undeleted or I'm just a fruit cake or both !
The other thread was hidden to ensure the Hussk spawn news appears on the frontpage as long as it is useful.
Ace ... this is how it went down according to when things were posted: (times posted are the times that showed up for me - East Coast US) @ 1:20pm yesterday, the MA statement that was made at the official Calypso website was picked up from Bertha Bot at PCF, and the "Originally Posted Here" linked right back to the official Calypso website @ 1:22pm yesterday, the MA statement that was made at the official Calypso website was picked up by the EP News Bot, which created this very thread in the Planet Calypso section of the forum, with the link back to Calypso's website - even though it's this thread, I added the link for consistency @ 6:02pm yesterday, the MA statement that was made at their website (Entropia Universe) was picked up by the EP News Bot with the appropriate link back to their EU website @ 6:18pm yesterday, the MA statement that was made at their website (Entropia Universe) was picked up by Bertha Bot at PCF with the appropriate link back to their EU website Additionally... I had extra comments here, but removed them, because posting the timeline of what was published and when is enough to sort it out.
