I suppose you put a pair of Vayper Onyx on just like you did with those Bono Shades; I think that's what they were called... They must have used some clever lighting technique to get a 3D effect.

Maybe merging the both? I think the "3D" refers to a virtual in-game 3D model of the real-world glasses for your avatar to wear, unfortunately no 3D gaming for EU yet.
Wasn't there that technique some years back where you could see 3D movies without wearing goggles - one I remember was Space Hunter in 3D in the mid-80's...
