Planet Calypso: Entropy The Purger

  1. The desert lands S/E of Cape Corinth teleporter has now been occupied by what has to be the biggest robot threat to Planet Calypso, the L4190 Entropy The Purger. That is no misprint - it really has a difficulty level of 4190!

The red-dot at the extreme edge of the scope told me it was massive in scale, and a green-dot just below it getting ever nearer to this behemoth, told me that someone with far greater 'firepower' than myself was attempting to have a go - this was my cue to go and investigate closer...

Unfortunately, just as I was getting nearer, it turned out that the lone hunter had overestimated his or her chances, because the green-dot was suddenly no more, and so I had no cover to try and get a good close-up shot - but I pressed ahead anyway, hoping I could time it just right before I got retired myself.
As if this factor in itself wasn't enough, I soon realised that the Purger wasn't alone, but that it had an escort of numerous L82 Vanguard Commanders, at least three of them.

I then realised that Robot Command may have used a Vanguard Commander as a blueprint or engineering and constuction guide, because the Entropy The Purger looked almost identical and it's movement is practically the same. However, I wasn't able to ponder the point much further, as in the next instance it hit me once with something; probably some sort of energy beam, that sent me back to the nearest revive point in no uncertain terms.
I have no idea how many highly skilled colonists it would take to get the better of this metal monster, and over what length of time, but it must be a lot and probably something in the order of an hour at least. CDF has a problem on it's hands!!!

  3. Looks great, thinking what type of firepower are we looking at here how many would it take to bring that robot down to its scrap knees is this robot more danger than the husk.

I was watching Star's live stream for a while with Obie, and it took quite a bit to take one of these down. There were a lot of green dots shooting at it, but you know that Star does fast and major damage.

However, his return vs. what he was putting out was not good for the while we were watching. The in-game chat echoed comments as such from those who were part of the kill, so not sure how many of those you have to kill to make it worth it.

  5. Sounds interesting, wish I could have seen that - having avatars battling with them in the screenshots would have made them more meaningful.

Too bad the loot return wasn't that great, I would have thought that just getting one of them would be rewarded with an ATH seeing as 'The Purger' hasn't been there that long...
