  1. Revenue Generating Opportunity Available In State-of-the-Art Massively Multiplayer Online Game

Goteborg, Sweden - December 8, 2009 - First Planet Company, developer and publisher of the largest real cash economy MMORPG, announced today that the online public auction of the Crystal Palace Space Station will begin on December 14th, 2009. The winning bidder will acquire the property deed plus obtain exclusive taxation rights for activities. Crystal Palace is already an extremely popular hunting destination that is in orbit around Planet Calypso.

This auction is the third major property opportunity offered on Planet Calypso. The first auction, for Treasure Island, took place in 2004 and sold for $26,500 USD. Australian gamer, David â??Deathifierâ? Storey recouped his full investment within 12 months and has continued to make a profit. The second, and much larger, auction took place in 2005 when American gamer Jon â??NEVERDIEâ? Jacobs bought a Virtual Space Resort for a record-breaking $100,000 USD. Due to his virtual nightclub and the profits obtained from mining/hunting rights and property sales on the resort, Mr. Jacobâ??s fortune was valued at $1.5 million USD in 2006. Operating profitably from day one the Club NEVERDIE Resort brought in over $50,000 USD in mining/hunting rights alone in its first five months.

The auction will begin on December 14th and last until December 28th with an initial opening bid of 1 PED ($.10 USD). To take part in the auction, download the game at the official website, www.planetcalypso.com and create a free account. Once an avatar has been created players can easily enter the world and deposit funds into their account via the gameâ??s website or in-game interface. Players can gain access to the auction via the Auctioneer character located in all major towns on Planet Calypso. The winner will own this unique hunting destination with a number of high-level creatures not available anywhere else on Planet Calypso.

First Planet Company is the developer and publisher of Planet Calypso, the largest real cash economy MMORPG in the world. Players have the ability to participate in a unique virtual economy where they only pay for the game when they play, and they can actually make money. It is also the first MMORPG to use CryTekâ??s stunning CryENGINE 2 for amazing graphics and physics. Six years after the initial launch as Project Entropia, the game is now called â??Planet Calypsoâ? and its real cash economy is still the mainstay of this MMORPG.

Planet Calypso is a free download available at the gameâ??s official website, www.planetcalypso.com.

    Crystal Palace Specifications
    • Four individually themed 100,000m² hunting domes.
    • Two high level creatures â?? Aurli and Kreltin â?? which will remain exclusive to Crystal Palace.
    • A standard land management system allowing the owner to populate each hunting dome uniquely.
    • A space craft docking area, to be introduced when space flight returns.
    • 17 shopping booths.
    • An event area in each dome.
    Auction FAQ

If I deposit a large amount of money to participate in the auction and donâ??t win, will MindArk still take a 1% withdrawal fee from my money if I wish to withdraw it again?
No, a maximum withdrawal fee of USD100 is in effect for avatar accounts that make a deposit larger than USD10,000 between Dec. 8th and Dec. 28th and participate in the auction. All transactions will be monitored and logged.

What is meant by â??taxing activitiesâ? on the property and how will I do it?
You will be able to set a percentage tax for each of the four hunting domes on Crystal Palace through the standard land management interface. The tax is a percentage of the PED value of resources and loot claimed by hunters in each dome, and will be transferred to your avatar account at regular intervals.

When will I actually take possession of the deed and begin managing the property?
The deed will be transferred to the winning bidderâ??s avatar inventory when the auction has ended.

Can I expect future improvements to the property? (Adding domes, adding quests, adding mining)
The property is sold exactly as specified today, with the exception of space craft docking area that will be introduced when space flight is possible again. The docking are will allow space craft owners to shuttle avatars to and from the station and Planet Calypso. A new system of Estate Development will allow the owner to purchase added functionality for the property in the future.

Can FPC or MindArk provide any official documents that help me secure a bank loan?
    No, this is not possible.

Will the deeds to the shopping booths on Crystal Palace be included in the purchase?
Yes 17 deeds will be included. You will be able to sell each of the 17 boothsâ?? deeds to others.

Will the current Aurli and Kreltin creatures remain exclusive to Crystal Palace?
    Yes.

Wow. MA financials must be way down.

So the only thing one would get by acquiring CP is taxation rights? The main reason TI and CND broke even as fast as they did was because the owners could sell off apartments, hangars and shops. This could be a nice testcase to see how well things do if the money literally has to be made back by only taxes.

50.000 ped globals on CP a day (Plus overhead maybe 75k ped non globaling loots)

125k PED per day cycled with an 3% tax = 3.750PED income daily on 3% taxes.

    3.750 * 365 days = 1.368.750PED

Auctions seems to be like 3 years income, so CP will be sold at 4.1 M PED or more

The one thing lacking from your calculation is the estimated loss of people due to CP becoming taxed after this. Lots of people hunt there because it's not taxed. Most likely, a lot of them will leave CP as soon as the taxes kick in.

Yep I know I will... :coffee: hunting n00b mobs on non taxed areas.

When will Eudoria be sold off?

for the ones who dont read EF or can't, i copy my post from there :D
for the ones who do, i know its a copy and paste, but i didnt want to write it all again :D
all of the following, in my opinion [IMG]

actually, may not be as great as it looks like

i am fairly sure that several people where just hunting there because it was one of the few uber mob hunting spots which werent taxed yet

also, with new planets comining up, rather many ppl being "on hold" to check those out, people selling their (uberish) stuff to have money to invest in those new planets with new opportunities
CP may have considerably less customers

from my personal view i don't like that taxation which is becoming more and more
on amethera you can hardly do a step without being taxed
while more and more LAs and tax areas are made, the few "natural" untaxed mob spawns of a useful size to hunt get reduced to force you even to hunt there
    which annoys me considerably

recent example, the untaxed tant spawn pre VU10 east of twins, now the only thing left are merps, in a taxed LA of course

it is great that MA/FPC tries to find more way to quinch some peds out of players (for long term tax investment, which they can invest in RL if LA is bought), over the players who are pretty much forced to hunt at taxed areas to hand their peds over to the investors
what i start to wonder is why playing at all, could start as well a meeting where you give every investor 10-50 ped and log off and be done for the week

although, considering the fairly bad annual reports, guess they need money quick, so this could be a great move short term

personally, i find it fairly troublesome, we just had a soc chat about it recently, that the game didn't move forward really

it is pretty much the thing i joined close to 5 years ago
ya, the gfx is better, but what else changed?
more LAs, more decay (armor, clothes etc.), few more mobs (daspletor, Malcruentor, those space corn at CND;cornaterion or so, Caperon, Chomper, Ossosomething, Kerberos)
i may forget one, but the only "doable" mob for most of the people was Kerberos, which even vanished this VU [IMG]
ah yes, L weapons which destroyed the melee profession pretty efficiently( which i skilled in and still do because i am stubborn)

point is, the development of EU game/fun/interest/"spirit" wise is basically (imo) 0
having some kind of old house with no water and eletricty house painted over with new shiny paint (read new gfx engine), doesnt change the usefulness of the house, especially not if you increase the cost to live in it over time (more decay and taxes) and take the showers out (no MF yet, taming gone, no mentoring; ok, granted, those things were never thought through and sucked, but at least it was a change from the "pew pew shooting grind til mobs are dead")

so, to close this, great idea
just tax CP, best you sell whole eudoria and the few square meters left in amethera as well before you even think about increasing the fun factor of something which hasn't changed fun wise since 5 years or more, but got considerable more costy during that

which also made me find out while i had more fun when i joined
no, not because it was cheaper, but because it felt new and i had hope that the potential would be used to something interesting and fun
guess after 2 years or so you start realising that fun wise, new content wise, nothing changes, just the cost increases
    it makes me sad

Seeing that I am not active anymore, I asked a wealthy friend to bid on CP for my behalf, with the understanding that I pay him back everything through profits eventually;)

you honestly dont believe its gonna stay at 1 ped starting bid do you? Just need one bidder to get it going with a couple of K peds. I am a little worried tho that it may skyrocket as much as CND did. Not getting religious here, but I have a "Living God" Looking out for me. LOL refering to a verse entity and Not a RL entity LOL Its not what you know that counts I suppose, rather whom you know.

Sounds like a publicity stunt to me, trying to get the same attention selling CND did.

Will be intresting to see who buys it tho

At least theyre leniant with you. Cant compare a temp ban with a permban.

Anywow. It is no coincidence that MA clients lash out. When active and you have a lot of anti-MA bitching going on, they will flagg you and tweak the "dynamics" so u have a long period of running your MA-account at a terrible loss. This happened to me. I know I am not the only one either. Many have left cos of it. Others are locked who publically voice their discontent with MA corruption.

This Mindark way is corrupt as hell. The evil nature of Mindark employees shows, when they lock accounts who dare speak out against them. They sure get personal in a bussiness environment. They love to use their dynamics, tweaking as a weapon.

And they want to get more new client etc...LOL Nothing short of a complete MA employee revamp would suffice to ensure the virtual future.

True. Dont worry, if you so much dont want me in-game, I wont be. Forget the CP auction thingy kay? you can bid and have it all.
