It aint difficult also to find talented marketeers. If done properly, EU could be way above WOW, and without superstars promoting the game. Marketting is a wide spectrum and not narrow.

There *was* a contest where players were to make a commercial for EU. And I also believe a MA/FPC rep did in fact ask for input on how to survive on a 150 PED per month budget on the forum, the result of which are the blogs kept by various people.

Do they hold those possitions for the status only or the great challenge to deploy their awesome marketting tallents? I havent seen anyone of these two hyped up to show us what they can do in a International arena . I mean show the community you are deserving of all those corporate titles. I know what I am talking about, I am talented and used to be a marketting executive for years, with success. I was way too busy selling a product to even be bothered about the word "executive". Suggestion Mindark: Pay your Marketeers commission on Merit alone, and see them perform. it is simple, you dont do nothing, you dont get paid. The economic downturn could be a perfect justification of this.
then you also be aware that such positions are responsible for carrying out the companies chosen marketing strategy. if you arent performing as expected and required, your employer will drop you. they have to show the community sweet fuck all, they have to show their employers how they are performing. apparently, MA senior management and their shareholders are quite happy at the moment how marketing goes. suggestion shinobi: dont assume that because you would do differently, doesnt mean MA are doing it wrong.
No need for them to answer to the community on that point indeed. We see their performance as poor therfore obvious they only need to bullshit the boss to keep the job and income. if you're the one with a marketing background, you tell me? would it be substantial? but more importantly is that the only strategy? does getting 1k people a week in help in the long term - can the system cope both in terms of the IT infrastructure and the in game economy? what happens if they never come back after a week? there are different approaches to company growth (organic, acquisitions, market share, revenue focus, profit focus), im sure there are many different marketing strategies to match.
