    Hello :)

I live in Denmark very near Copenhagen. When you tell people about Copenhagen you can't help describing it as a small doll village, even though Copenhagen is one of the largest cities in Denmark. But that is how tiny Denmark is. With only 5.5 mio citizens on43.098,31Km2 we can't really have huge cities ...

The main attraction must be *Den lille havfrue* (The Little mermaid). She is a tiny little sculpture standing in the water near Langelinie. She was a gift for Copenhagen from the Brewer Carl Jacobsen and made by the sculptor Edvard Ericson in 1913.

The famous Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen wrote in 1837 the fairy tail about The Little Mermaid.

    Here she is:

Another great thing to see is *Runde Trn* (the round tower), standing on Kbmagergade at Strget in the mid city.

They startet to built the tower in 1637 and in 1642 it was finished and 34,8 meter high. The tower doesn't have stairs inside it but a spiral formed road going from the bottom to the top of the tower.

In 1716 the Russian Tsar Peter the Great during his visit to the Danish King Frederik the 4th, rode his horse all the way to the top, while the tsarina came after in the horse coach.

Here you see the famous tower:

Last, but not least, I wish to introduce you to a very beautiful and old building in the mid center of Copehagen - Kongens Nytorv - and next to were I work, Det Kongelige Teater (The Royal Theatre).

This old lady was build in 1748 and has several buildings to it. It is absolutely gorgeous inside and worth a visit:

What exciting things can be discovered in your countrys capital or big cities? If you could choose only 3 of the biggest attractions which would be cool to have a look at either because it has a great history, or because it's just so magnificent it's worth a visit ...

I would love to know ...

I was thinking of Airplanes, but probably because you have some airports around - anything else?

  4. Strap yourselves down, Goreon will show you paradize;):D

Home sweet home. There is so much beauty in one country like SA, there just is no space in this entire forum to post it here LOL I hope Goreon shows the Jakaranda city in full bloom. My city of birth:)

  5. Goreon

Goreon May the HOF be with you!

Joburg South Africa is where I live, but Joburg itself is pretty boring, just the place where everyone works and makes a living, all the nice places are out of the cities ;)

    Pretoria

    Cape Town

But few hours drive out of Joburg you would definitely want to get to Kruger National Park and see "The Big Five":

There are other private reserves \ lodges \ parks you can visit where you can ride elepahts and horses (between the wild animals) or go to sanctuaries etc and play with lion cubs. Really really awesome :)

Take a drive along the Garden Route for some spectacular scenery

Go take a leap off the World's Highest Commericial Bungy Jump in a place called Bloukrans...

Damn, the list goes on and on... so many places and things to do :openmouth:

one of the few unique places in the world.

I once drove through this city in full bloom with an American tourist friend. He looked around thinking genuinly that he ingested LSD without knowing. LOL, was funeh tho. Goreons pics makes me long back to Knysna and fresh oysters LOL beautifull there.

luckilly as a south african, I can go here, in Holland to obtain boerewors, pap, koeksusters, biltong, chillibites, ouma rusks, ms. balls, etc. For me a long drive, but worth it.

As a person living in Vienna, what would you say is a MUST SEE when going there?

i live in London. there are literally too many things to list. the view down the river at night can be brillant, espeically east bound with the contrast of Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf in the background. off the beaten track fav would be Borough Market. theres also an oddity of a Sherman tank painted pink just off the Old Kent Road (though its no tourist spot, but its 15 walk from Tower Bridge if you are ever in town).

I live pretty much right in the middle of Wales, half way up a mountain. As I sit at my computer this is my view.

  13. I live in the sunny, idyllic, and beautiful area of Greater Manchester, England. Home to the most beautiful countryside in the UK not. It is, however, home to 2.56 million people, and the third most populous area in England.

It is also home to the greatest football club that ever existed. Now, I know most of you are probably thinking of the rags err, Manchester United, but Man U can suck my overly-large manhood. No, the team I talk about gods own club Manchester City.

The night life is awesome, lots of clubs and bars for pretty much anybody. It's a good night out.

    Ah yes, the Jacarandas :)

I miss then in full bloom in Harare, Montague Avenue would literally be a tunnel of purple where the trees had met each other above the road and their flowers were dropping onto the road as well.

Not found an image to do it justice - but here are the trees back in 1975 before they had met.

Zimbabwe has rather a lot of wonderful photo opportunities.

Now I live in Wales with views very similar to Xentrics :)

    Nice Story from Darmstadt :loveshower:

Lykke, Vienna is a MUST see
The whole city is just lovely, there is so much to see its hard to mention just a bit  , but ofc the Hofburg is a place to be visited! In Januar/Februar its Ballroom Dance Season and they have these marvelous Ballroom Dances in there.. its awesome.

  19. pfuuuh, there are so many nice places. the rathaus with its christkindlmarkt in nov. and dez., the hofburg, the burgtheater, opera house, st. stephens cathedral, belvedere, schnbrunn, museumsquartier... and all the other nice old buildings.

in summer its definitely the strandbar (beachbar) herrmann from april to end of sept. coolest place to hang out when its warm outside. btw, i`m working there so tell me if you should go there and i can manage some nice cocktails for you and your company.

and for the clubs... flex, fluc, pratersauna (also a cool place in summer with a pool in the middle of the location), passage, ost club, planetarium, etc...

if you need a tourist guide don`t hasitate to ask. this offer is also for all the other people here.
