As you know, Entropia Planets is always looking for information about the Entriopia Universe and a good way of doing so is by interviewing the people involved. We have interviewed a number of people over the years and want to interview a lot more. This thread is for the members of EP to make suggestions for interviews. It can be employees of any of the Planet Partners or MindArk, but also players of EU and even EP staff members :) So, if there is anyone you would like to see interviewed post it here and we will see if that's possible of not.
A comprehensive in-depth feature on an interview with the current balancing manager and a not-too-biased comparison of that interview's answers compared to past balancing manager interviews/articles/quotes/etc might be interesting. (it may take some digging in the way-back machine) Have fun.
An in-depth set of featured interviews all tied in to one story or series of stories with former planet partner/Mindark employees who no longer are employees/partners on the topics involving their employment/partnership, changes that have to happen to avatar 'ownership' before employment, during, and after, etc. that they can actually reveal without breaking terms of some nda might be interesting. There appear to be several of these folks out an about based on some linked-in sightings of former RT employees, postings by Skam after Hanne no longer was with fpc, Mindstar after leaving planet partnership, etc.
Any unanswered questions lurking in the "Ask Mindark" section of entropiaforum that don't have answers yet would be a great diving board to jump off of in finding questions to ask... Perhaps, as you work your way through this, creating an interview for each unanswered thread there, you could cross link over there in the threads you found the questions with links to the replies/answers to those threads in the interview/feature story here on ep that covers it as you slowly find answers to all the unanswered questions out there? Why re-create the wheel when you can just put spokes in it connecting one side of the community that's already asked the right questions but got no answers, to the other that's actively giving out answers but don't know what questions to address?
Current situation is: one community related article/interview is scheduled for being published for one article/interview we are waiting for replies from a PP who agreed to this there's one more PP related person who offered an interview requests have been send to 2 more persons related to MA/PP operations and we still have hope to get a reply at least we are working on 3 more initial ideas that haven't been send to anyone yet There's not really a lack of ideas of who to interview and what to ask, it's rather making it more of a community effort.
If MA staff doesn't answer specific questions in their "Official forum", I highly doubt they'd answer them elsewhere. We certainly can try, though, but frankly, I have very low expectations of achieving anything there.
I also like to hear from MA. Although I always kinda doubted if Marco told the truth; I kinda liked it that he showed up on forum, answering questions and so. It felt like a closer connection. Nowadays I more and more have the feeling MA is some cold far away company, totally disconnected with its playerbase. Besides that, I think an in depth interview with planet partners would be nice too. I for one like to know what Jacob Neverdie is thinking about the future/state of the game. Ofcourse he can answer this on forum, and he even might read my post :) But really, an interview is so much more informative. Other planet partners too, I don't even know who runs them. But also some players and even one soc. I never heard about WhySoSerious before everyone complained they were going to win Mayhem big time. I like to see what Star thinks of the state of the game, now that he's a bit further away from it. And I also like an interview with the person behind pedtoclick.com. He had a genius idea and it seems he succeeds where MA stopped their ingame advertising long time ago.
I've actually had enough of MA. I could handle more from them if they actually answered the bloody questions or gave us something that is worth saying but I'm very close to the point now where I stop reading their "announcements" posts and interviews as its invariably a waste of time. Typically they say less than politicians or talk about things that will never be implemented for example Deeds being linked to land areas and voting or factories, Wistrel
Well it was suggested by NEVERDIE actually that we focus more on the players and less on MindArk and the PP's. So interviews with (interesting) players would be a good idea and there is one ready to be released already. I can think of a few people that might have something interesting to tell, but talking with completely new players would be very nice as well I think, seeing their point of view.
Interviews with shop owners and apartment dwellers in various locations might be a good idea from time to time... Same for LA owners, etc.
I once interviewed a hanger/spaceship owner and had it published on EU-Chronicle when I was on there. I believe EP admin still has the EU-C data/content because I think it was handed over by Phunksta? Anyway, maybe it's possible to resurrect the interview thread. It was before the SGA though so a bit outdated, but it gave a good insight into how running a spaceship/hanger business really worked.
Ewok of SFE comes to mind. They've been running armour shops for years and I'm sure there's a story to tell there.
Just as an FYI ... it was already done. However, when the article was transferred over to EP from MSM, the podcast did not transfer properly. I'll see if I can find the MP3 and attach that to the article because MSM is shut down.
It did transfer properly but all the large files such as audio interviews, EntropiaTimes print issues, etc are currently disabled due to the recent server issues (http://www.entropiaplanets.com/threads/system-upgrade.9424/page-3#post-66151). The issues are solved or at least 'postponed' so the files will be back in a day or two.
I completely forgot about that. We were going to get the content, but he never got back to me. Let me shoot him a mail and see what we can do. Edit: Done
Shame, would liked to have read that as SFE has to be one of the most dedicated EU retailers for armour.
Hmmm - I see the problems. You're probably wondering if I kept a copy for myself, well I did only I can't find it anywhere on my PC so must have trashed it by mistake :P If he ever does get round to sending you the content, the thread title was something like 'An Interview with Rio Riobabe babe' which was her AV name.
It was an SFE Who's Who EU Business interview and done in podcast form rather than written, and Tass said that the podcast should be working in a few days. However, EwoK said he doesn't mind being interviewed again, so that's always an option. It could be presented differently, because in the podcast, it was EwoK and Tim Unleashed who were both interviewed about SFE.
If EwoK isn't your flavour, I have other personalities you can talk to...... Uh I mean personae!...other personae...
